Nah the DLP was not the same , the DLP was primarily a Victorian movement. Richardson and Keating are from the same faction. The DLP was never a major movement in NSW.

Interesting side note, Sir Robert Menzies, voted DLP in his later days rather then Liberal after Gorton/McMahon took over.

One would have thought that given the debacle on Saturday and the tenuous hold the Morrison government has one would have thought that the last thing that the Liberals would have done would be to show hubris in Kerryn Phelps's first day in parliament.

What sort of weird logic is that - the DLP were disaffected Labor people , caused by the mismanagement of Doc Evatt and internals of the ALP, nothing to do with the Libs, who they chose to direct preferences to was up to them as they felt they were a safer anti communist bet than the ALP and what on earth was hypocritical about the Liberals wanted to keep the ALP out of power and them in, its the whole friggen point.

BC I believe it will be May - they are bringing down a "budget" in April.

Yes...you're quite correct. I meant May as the budget is being delivered 2 April and the 11th and 18th of April are Thursdays.
