js there are a few things that will prevent an early election. There is a Victorian state election in late November and an NSW state election in March. Also, Labor probably won't get enough support from the Independents to pass a vote of no confidence. Dutton's referral to the High Court is another matter entirely.

WAG I am currently watching ABC News who on Sky News made that claim. I can't remember the specific details att he moment but i believe the HC has settled that in favour of a person is able to be a sitting Councillor and be eligible to stand for the Australian Parliament.

WAG yes she is a GP who works in the electorate and is also a Sydney City Council.
