Best commentator I've heard, will miss his very well said and accurate descriptions on the ABC.

The best talent the ABC had, another reason not to bother with ABC anymore, their sports coverage (what's left of it) is getting woeful in quality, enjoyed him during the AFL season, internet radio means can still get him on SEN.

Last one out of the ABC turn the lights off.

Might be time for WA boys Clint Wheeldon, Corbin Middlemas & Brett Sprigg to step up and lead the ABC national sports coverage with Whateley gone and Jim Maxwell must be close to retirement as well.

I saw Jim Maxwell during the Boxing Day test and he seemed to be restricted moving about. Did he have a medical issue recently? However I still enjoy his test commentary. He has a wonderful ability to recount the facts and nuances of incidents that have occurred throughout test history.

He had a stroke in 2016 during the coverage of the Olympics and was off the scene for the entire 2016- 17.season

What's Glen Mitchell doing these days? I see him at my Gym, he looks really aged, I know he has mental health issues but I thought he was getting back on track.

Last year he called WAFL games for the online radio station whose name escapes me (Kix digital?) I think he also runs a consultancy where he does speaking engagements about mental health to various groups. I also heard him do a breakfast show on one of the community stations recently as a fill in so he is still involved in media. Glen was diagnosed with a serious mental health disease several years back when he was saved from suicide by a vigilant park ranger. He talks about his experiences publicly to try and break down the stigma of mental illness.

That descriptive is spot on mikeh. Glen Mitchell is a busy man these days. Does a lot of free-lance work in the media. Also a regular newspaper columnist. Apparently can be heard regularly on various radio stations across the country discussing sporting issues.
And as Bazza commented, would imagine his abc days are over.

Sorry for getting off topic.
