From January of this year alone the US has imported $262b from China whilst only exporting $70b to them so all his posturing, bluff and bluster has come to SFA.

Bc before the trade war the US deficit v China was almost $6 v $1.By your figures it's now just under $3 v $1

gtr: correct mate; the issue is the fairness of the trade for him; they have manipulated currency, made use of slave labour, high tariffs and subsidies-- in short china has not played by the WTO rules.
bc we should wean ourselves off the China trade as much as possible

The latest BBC polls where out yesterday. Biden vote is holding well but Trump has picked up 6 points in the last fortnight. Most being in the key marginal seats.

gtr: good one, and thanks: pa and wis are the dangerous ones Biden needs to watch, especially if the swing continues

Ark was listening to an opinion piece on 585 am the other day.The Dems are getting sucked in like 2016.With Texas,Arizona. Florida, North Carolina. Spending millions of dollars in those states.. The basic truth is the Latino voters can't stand Biden. One of the few voting groups that don't like him in 2020..
I'm not sure Ark.Does Pennsylvania have a large Latino population??

gtr: Pa would have a Spanish minority but not up to the level of Florida or the south west states. Pa will come down to how the workers vote in plilie, as he got some of them last time.

the Dems always forget that Florida is full of cubans whose hatred of the party is great due to them wanting them to be softer with castro.

After the first debate, I saw a survey of voters whom watched it on spanish america tv, two thirds thought Trump won the debate. This does not mean that over 60 per cent would vote for him, rather it shows that the Dems need to be careful in assuming that the minorities will always vote in their favour.

the republicans need to appeal to their
religion and family values over time
the spanish would also partly believe in the American dream, it is why they move their after all

Was just reading up Biden made 3 bad blues regarding Pennsylvania this week. One so bad that he tried to retract his comment yesterday. Over Fracking and coal out of that state. And Steele imports when he signs the TTP.

gtr: correct; as I said the other day, if Biden wins China's president will effectively be the boss in Washington and Peking -- bad news for working yanks, the Western World and Formosa.

The USA is such a hopelessly divided and dysfunctional country and thats not going to change regardless of the result of this election.

mikeh:
so true, NE tried to break away in 1812 to rejoin Canada; texas only joined the union by a vote or so, the civil war itself, the 60 election; the bushjr elections, in general, the trump thing is just a slghtly different verson of the same problem: 'sectionalism'.
