I thought a new thread would be better than continuing the older one

WA social gatherings restrictions relaxed to a max of TEN people. Effective from Monday, April 27;
- Indoor and outdoor non-work gatherings relaxed to a max of 10 people
- People allowed to leave their homes for non-contact activities such as fishing, boating, hiking and camping
- Wedding attendance increased from 5 to 10 people.
- Outdoor personal training allowed, restricted to a group of 10 people
- Home opens permitted
- Restaurants and café's to remain on takeaway only
- Public playgrounds will remain closed as they can't be cleaned regularly
- Funeral attendance remains at 10 people max, but exemptions can be applied for
- Regional travel restrictions remain in place

There were ZERO new cases in WA overnight.
The state’s total is 549. There are only 55 active cases.

Premier Mark McGowan said these are significant changes. "I just urge everyone — if the new rules aren’t adhered to, then we’ll have to consider reinstating them."
We live in a time where intelligent people are being silenced so stupid people won't be offended

With WA lagging well behind on the testing rates, just hope the restrictions are not lifted too quickly. With the colder winter weather on the way, viruses etc are more prevalent at this time of the year.
Whilst our numbers are not as bad as others, will no need to become complacent.

Sco Mo just said Pubs and Cafes will re-open far quicker than originally thought.

He also said Domestic travel may be relaxed, however International Travel was a long way off.

He also said Big Crowds at Sports events were not possible for some time.

Just need to be very careful about relaxing the restrictions too quickly, the threat of a 2nd wave is always present. A lot more people died in the 2nd wave of the Spanish flu outbreak than in the first wave because people got complacent and started gathering in large groups again too soon. Hopefully this will not happen now due to the more sophisticated communication that we all have access to.

Watched Ch9 news last night and I know it's not always the bastion of great reporting but it mentioned the WAFL are looking at a single round season with finals starting, I think, late June or July, If all 10 teams participate it will be a 9 game season. remains to be seen what the Weags do with their reserves, but if the AFL start up in May, they will likley participate in the WAFL, same for Peelmantle.

Subi has another online Q & A tonight so I'll ask Capesy what the latest is.

That sounds plausible SS because some WA restrictions were loosened on monday. Maybe at the end of June/ July if conditions allow for a start. Then again is it worth having only a 9 week season? There would be a stronger chance of a start then because the WA virus figures are relatively smaller than other places. Have only had 1 new case today and that being a sheila flying in from somewhere. If our virus figures remain low and there's no new clusters or spiking occurs, the state government could relax restrictions further. Will be interesting to see what happens.

So 3 Freo players flaunt the rules taking after their skipper and the AFL thinks we can rely on footballers to do the right thing when they are allowed to exercise their privileged positions and return to their trade while the rest of us wallow in our sloth.
Freo way to go, a long long way until they can educate their mob into being responsible citizens.

A start to the Wafl in late July means the finals would begin the first week of October. Still not too late for the Finals I would have thought?
