Agree STD, going ahead with the 17 round season but with shortened 16 minute + time on qtrs.

I hate that we have likely lost our beloved WAFL season unless the virus starts to slow down very soon and significantly, so the only footy fix any of us are able to get is the AFL. It's up to each person to decide if they can go full footy cold turkey or take the only games available.

Footy at all levels will be back in 2021, just need the community, the WAFC and the Government to ensure our clubs can survive financially until things start up next year.

Exactly AFL is all money driven. Money before health.

It will look ridiculous in front of empty stands. See how long it will last before they are forced to stop. To me it's already a compromised season with 17 rounds and shorter quarters along with all the other rule changes they make along the run.

Great news, haven’t heard a compelling argument against it. Don’t blame the AFL for WAFL’s piss weak stance.

Wake up mate. The AFL called off the WAFL season, have you not been following.
And then they turn around and do this!!

Quite obviously he has been gagged by Dill & co at VFL House!

The whole of the WA Football industry which falls under his charter has been postponed indefinitely and we have yet to hear a word from him since Dill announced all State Leagues are in hiatus!

First of all its good to have AFL footy starting tomorrow night. They fixtures are within the Governments Corona Virus guidelines.
The mind boggles when it's safe for the All
Afl men+women to play. But it's not safe to play suburban footy that does not require a plane trip. Not buying the Afl playing to stand up to Corona V.

Double standards from the AFL. Every other league, suburban and country competition has had to backdate the start of their season to at least the end of May, but the AFL starts on time.
How many suburban and country clubs wont be able to continue after this season when they are unable to recover from the financial mpact this will have?
Just another reason why I wont watch one second of an AFL game this year, or read about it online or in the paper.

You’re right, it’s not fair and it is double standards. Freeze summed it up beautifully, get rid of our 2 AFL teams and the AFL itself. Then you can decide which rugby side, or even worse which soccer side you want to follow, because sure as shit, there won’t be a WAFL. And we 3 “apologists” may well be the only realists on this subject. But you stick to your guns and keep your heads buried deep in the sand.

Just call me Ostrich, there is a significant gap between the health and safety operations between the AFL & the WAFL let alone suburban country leagues.

The other factor is that if a WAFL player and lower gets crook they have virtually no income due to their work outside of the game but an AFL player has a guaranteed income.

I don't like that the WAFL is not starting but the fact is the gap between professional and semi professional at a club level is enormous.

I would be more concerned about clubs surviving without the cash flow, mine will be ok (for obvious and regrettable reasons) but for some this could be the straw that breaks the dromedaries back! This where the invisible premier ( who I actually think has done ok thusfar) needs to support our industry!
We live in a time where intelligent people are being silenced so stupid people won't be offended
