Well without being part of the club I cannot tell what the culture is for sure but given the media, rumours and some outcomes it would seem that whilst P Bell is a positive he faces a pretty daunting job getting the whole club to change its internal issues.

The playing stocks are ok but there are questions for me abt Darcy, Cox and a few others that seem to have some potential but ..... but just don't seem upto it. I know what S Jones can do but he like darcy is at best support for a number one ruckman, I question Walters grasp of team play and that if you don't get the ball stop sooking and get on with it.

I also wonder at the depth and structure of the freo backline, has shown glimpses but the proof for me was having to keep M Johnson one but definitely two years the use by date.

Just my thoughts
We live in a time where intelligent people are being silenced so stupid people won't be offended

Firstly don't believe the media.
Peter Bell I agree with you but internal issues refer to my first comment
Darcy. Think you are judging a bit harshly the kids 20 and I don't think he has played 20 games yet.
Walters is definately a team player wears his heart on his sleeve, my only critique of him is his ducking, he's no orphan there as far as small forwards go.
The backline is young and developing and with Logue coming back and probably Cox going down there I think there is good depth. This will be a strength of the team in a year or two.
Johnson. Could have kept him a little longer, he played very well last year but they are getting games into the young players.
Appreciate your thoughts.

You obviously don't rate Fremantle Grump starting a topic asking what are the negatives for Freo moving forward. Yet put the same topic on the WC board asking what are the plus /minuses?

I couldn't be bothered to respond TBH to such a negative toned topic.

I was going to say that DD, but didn't want to be negative so to speak. Give or take, you know what I mean.

DD...Grump also posted one asking for the positives but no-one has made any comment so this topic sits on top. For mine, as Grump mentioned in his original it has to be around club culture. For Freo to get better the entire club has to embrace an ethos of improvement. Will Peter Bell bring that about? I'm not sure but club's like Hawthorn, Sydney, Geelong just believe they should be thereabouts at the pointy end of the season and don't accept failure easily. Freo needs to do the same because if they don't, the current player group might lift them a couple of spots on the ladder but I can't see a flag any time soon without a cultural shift right across the organisation.

You can have your assumptions about culture at Freo, you are entitled to that. But just to make your statement about when Grump put the topics up, there was 5 minutes between the two. So saying no one commented is not correct. Personally couldn't give a flying you know what when he put them up.

Why on earth would you create two separate topics to discuss the clubs positives and negatives? I don't get it.

I have no idea but I think it's probably better to combine the two and am of the view that due to a good recruiting/drafting period the positives should outweigh the negatives this year. Freo should finish higher than 2018 but where they finish will depend on Lyon's game plan evolving from a defence based bore fest to something more attacking and keeping close to their best 22 on the park.

As a matter of interest JB, what are your assumptions of Freos culture?

You were the first poster to respond to this topic but you still haven't said anything on the "positives for Freo" thread...go figure.
