I would consider the incidents involving Liam Ryan at WC far more serious than this incident, infact more than any of Harleys incidents. He was asked to leave the venue and did. They are all on leave at the moment so it doesn't seem to be a big deal, silly yes. He is obviously on thin ice and could go either way I suppose but it is quite minor, no charges were bought forard. I'm more concerned about his ongoing injuries than his enjoyment of a beer or three.

JB yep the Ryan stuff up was on the high end of the scale but the balance using the scale is definitely against Bennell, the litany of misdemeanors just accrues with each year, half year or whatever. In a real job he would have been adjudged to have brought the company into disrepute and damaged the product.

He left and yes the group was the thing that was asked t leave but it shows a lack of judgement on who he associates with and there in lies another issue.

You just have to wonder what sort of example he's setting for the young guys and what message the club is sending out by continually supporting him. After all from memory he was involved in a drunken brawl, driving without a license, photographed snorting white powder at GC then since coming across to Freo has been tossed out of two licensed establishments, thrown off a flight to Queensland for being too pissed, given character references to 2 bikies charged with assault, fined by the club for interfering with his cousin during a break in play at Peel and all this for 3 games at AFL level in 3 years. He must have embarrassing photos of Lyon and/or Rosich that's all I can say.

3 games in 3 years??Looks like they just cant get Harleys body right for the riggers of Afl footy.Perth based doesnt look like a good fit for Harley.Would another Afl club look at possibly dafting him.

Spot on ...but tools like haselby say every indescretion should be looked at individually......Ohh guess what Hase, there is a track record here, but hey he is looking good at pre season training , therefore all all is forgiven eh??. Until he club adresses these sort of problem, vulture will still remain a problem

I doubt it gtr. After he was delisted by GC he was flown to Melbourne and interviewed by Richmond whilst staying with Dustin Martin. Apparently Harley disappeared from Dusty's house just after arriving, didn't return for quite some time and missed his medical the next day. In Martin's words, he thought Bennell was "too loose" to recruit which coming from a character like Dusty says it all. Richmond passed on him and he was subsequently picked up by Freo which isn't surprising given some of their recruiting gems over the years.

Haven't seen or heard Dusty say that. Seen it in the media (surprise) if all that has been reported regarding this "incident" is true. There is nothing to defend.

Actually he has only played 2 AFL games in 3 years BC!
Been on massive coin for those 3 years too I might add.
Has had far more indiscretions than games played and that is only the stuff that has been reported by the media!
