Going by the latest article, Coach Monaghan believes the West Perth players may not have belief in themselves to win the Grand Final. A good place to start is this coming weekend's match. There is no reason why they should be losing this game!. Their Home record this season is very good. They just need to not over-do the Handballing as per against Souths. If they can win by a good margin, it will give them confidence in the games ahead.

My thoughts exactly Freeze, last weeks loss to Souths has put paid to a WP Premiership this year I reckon, they can feel free to prove me wrong but massive hurdle to get past Peel, then Either Subi/SF in Prelim and GF :(

I wouldn't write off the Munchers this week just yet. I think out of the G7 group of clubs WP have some of the best personnel to implement a antagonistic / in your face brand of football to dismantle FART.
They will need to start a lot better than they did last weekend and put those FART fairies under real pressure though. You will then see if the FART players are fair dinkum about playing for their club.

yes...good point Dwert...hit the Dockers hard at the start and see if they're really up for it or whether they start to think about self preservation and next year.

Westaussie -- got it exactly right: the handball backwards against South was absolutely ridiculous. What is wrong with kicking ball to the advantage of the leading forward, notably the Victorian fellow?

Historically, WP have only won 4 GFs in even years so they will be pushing it to go all the way this season. The last time they won in an even year was 1960.

Their delivery to Lowry is poor but he has still managed 39 goals. This is an area that could make a difference on Sunday.

Agree that they need to start with quick goals to give them any chance against the "dockers" after all the game is played in the head as well as physical.

Go Falcons..

BC a lot of the posters don't get the alignment. It isn't how many so called afl listed players that are playing but the quality of them. The royals always had a everchanging 12-14 eagles players but we had a lot who are not up to afl standard and not up to elite wafl standard. The difference with Peel is they have very few guys who are not up to afl standard and even the guys who have yet to play afl are handy at wafl level. The poor form of the dockers have done peel a favour by rotating players thru peel and having so many talented players available.I doubt west perth will be able to to match them.

Agree with that Chaddy but there also seems to be big difference in the attitude and conviction of the two AFL player groups, the Peelmantle blokes play with a lot more commitment compared to the WC blokes many of whom looked disinterested which must have been so frustrating for Wolffy, Johnson & Co, not to mention the Royals faithful.

The Falcons midfielder Aidan Lynch and State defender Laine Rasmussen are in line for a recall to the West Perth side for Sunday’s first semi-final.
Lynch and Rasmussen were dropped from the Falcons team which lost the qualifying final to the Bulldogs.
