WTF... WHAT A MESS

ok got that off my chest.. Down at Bremer doing a bit of fishing but Listened to the game on ABC SW... Thanks to them for broadcasting the game.
I was heading to the game but due to the fact had 3 days of rain and no fishing extended my stay...Glad I did.\

ABC Broadcast by Spriggy,Clint and expert comments by Spence excellent..
Things I noticed from the broadcast.
Umpires shocking as the ABC guys could not believe the standard and the ones they missed.. Some things dont change. But that was not the reason WP lost

Things I noticed from listening were:

We still have a problem in the forward line
Bill has a bit of tweaking to do with positions.
SFFC are Hot and they have a great lineup Sala came up a lot as did the Hams and Schoithe and a good players list but we are much the same
Turnovers are killing us... Same shit different day
We seemed very uncoordinated tonight and took the wrong options,
Names that came up a lot were Blacky (even though he did make errors early)
Kerr played a good game. Great to see Nelly have a good game and he will be a force in 2015. Chris won the rucks albeit by a slender margin.

Early days and will be looking forward to a big improvement in tonights disappointing game. To many went MIA tonight. We had our chances but just couldnt put it on the scoreboard.
Sure the guys did their best and and will improve

Another thing that the ABC commentators mentioned was during broadcast was that Tracey Lewis was fighting Cancer.. She has alway been a WAFL supporter and is the editor of the FOOTY BUDGET. I realise this is a personal issue but I wish Tracey the best in her fight and I am sure all WAFL fans feel the same.
She has always been responsive to my posts on FB Footy Budget page and appeciate that as well.

not a flash evening. souths had a plan and they stuck to it. we played dumb football, everything from kicking the ball to the opposition to kicking the ball out of bounds on the full to just plain old sh1t skills. how many times did souths take pack marks and we tool nil. bills got a problem, a big problem and if he doesn't sort this lot out soon we wont make the final five.

The umpiring tonite was a disgrace all night and South can thank the men in green for at least 4 of their goals. Yes South also outplayed West Perth but the momentum shifters seemed to make it up as they went and had different rules for both sides, particularly in the case of deliberate out of bounds, encroaching the mark resulting in 50m penalties and holding the ball. When they dish up crap like tonite it is no wonder they are a hated so much, all people expect is consistency! I wonder what they do on their training nights?? and I hope we get a better group of maggots tomorrow at Basso, but I doubt it

Thank Christ we got the rub of the green mate , I saw some rotten ones go against us last year at bad times in a game too
I mean the umps will make bad calls that's granted but let the bloody game go if you've got doubtful ones

I agree let it go and flow more! But they shifted momentum on 2 or 3 occasions just when WP were about to grab the ascendency with some mind blowing howlers and as an SD man sitting next to my mate Leedy it was gobsmacking stuff. South looked very good though with a strong midfield and Higgins in the ruck was very good too, WP were smashed at throw ins and take aways, Souths were also aided by West Perths poor skills at times. But it is early days and West Perth will only get better with the premiership players they have

Just don't blow the whistle with bullshit 50/50's & yeah the Cardinals will be in the top 5 somewhere way too many good players not to be & we have started 2 weeks early this year , lots of the season to go yet mate

Didn't think WP were that bad tonight. But the low scoring was a worry, seemed determined to make a contest of it, made a few come backs but never hit the front, South seemed to respond when the question was asked , both teams were playing at a frantic pace.

WP should be part of the finals.

Hate to start with this but the Umps were really a disgrace, def effected our game and run forward - 'SHIT' all that's wanted is consistency and those b.....s gave none at all!!
I'm sure I heard bill screaming from 50 meters away - 'No Xmas cards' for that lot this year!!

BUT in saying that - the BETTER side won on the night.

Generally, we were hesitant in kicking forward, Turned the ball over embarrassingly, and some of our best were doing it at the worst most inopportune times
Kicking out of bounds, what with that? Kicking out on the full - WTF
Players Struggled to see players running past - when they did, we missed the player.
Our forwards were not taking the game on and seemed fluffy and lacking confidence
on and on and on - tooo many reminders of last years failings I'm afraid ..............

Chris - congrats and once again a magnificent ruck job - tried all night to steady the team
Gaudy - always the rock...
Adams - glimpses of the player we have to look forward to. Turned the game on its head in one instance- maybe needs to 'believe' he is the player we all think he is?
Manning - (lacks match fitness due to injury) steady throughout & wonderful last quarter... shook the ground with tackles, a wonderful goal on the run and a leader on the ground every time - indefinably the teams intensity gauge..I'm looking forward to his year!!
Kerr - excellent start to his year - hoping he can maintain the rage
Van berlo - moments of leadership and gamesmanship ... still needs to make his presence a force and galvanizing effect for others - hes on his way though
Manzone - a mini me manning hahaha
Lourey - earn your spot son - show us what you've got .. not afraid to mix it up which is great and a strong player, needs to take the game on and play the role hes been bought in to fill, players need to trust you & needs to hold some of those marks
Nelly ... what can you say with stats like that - and Yes I hate stats - but very good all night, just needs to complete the effort with better disposals to effective forwards
The back line stood up and while failing several times - its a hard structure to rebuild from the player losses and it will take some weeks to click - I'm sure it will happen

Not really concerned yet as its early days and while it would have been a more preferential start to have a win - its how we pick ourselves up that counts - its the first game and the cobwebs are there to be blown away

The team just must not go SELFISH - no ONE player wins the day...Trust those around you

Calm down S4E, it was as obvious as the nose on your face that the umpires were not consistent from one end of the ground to the other. It still dumbfounds me that the umps can't notice whats being payed at one end of the ground and adjust to the standard !

We had a couple of moments where we were back in the game and a terrible free or non free in our 50 destroyed a good spectacle. Souths will be a good side this year, you blokes should get down every week as it will be good viewing !
