Preview of the game from the WPFC Website at

westperthfc.com.au/news/7294/reserves-se...al-preview-v-subiaco

In short

WEST Perth can qualify for a second straight reserves grand final with a win over Subiaco in this Sunday's second semi-final at Medibank Stadium and enters the clash with plenty of firepower led by Shayne Zanetti and Matt Fowler in attack.

West Perth's reserves made last year's grand final before going down to South Fremantle unable quite to replicate the success of the league side in 2013, but the Falcons' reserves have remained strong in 2014 to enter the finals from second position on the ladder.

Now a win over Subiaco on Sunday at Leederville and West Perth will be into a second straight grand final then with the aim of going one step better in 2014 than they managed in 2013.
West Perth and Subiaco met twice during the home and away season in the reserves with the Falcons winning by 20 points at Medibank Stadium in Round 9 and then the Lions claiming a thriller by three points in Round 16 at HBF Arena.

Disappointing day to say the least but not the end of season by a long way.
Sure Paul saw and learnt a lot from todays game as did the players and he will fine tune the team? We certainly had a few passengers today they didnt adjust to FINALS footy.
Fark I remember Paul saying last week Home and Away finished and now Finals so have to lift as its a different ball game. OOPS sorry coach I forgot :(

I thought we were a bit top heavy and had to many talls. Goal kickers galore. Shit how many did we need? In my previous post on squad I did say I thought going in with Chooky and Zanetts was a bit over the top. Both have just come back and did not play the majority of the season where we had a lot of success with our small men and WE STILL KICKED GOALS!
Our lineup did not match the Subi game and players as well.

Now my view of the game besides the above. The game was there to be won but we were not Hungry enough (something I havent seen in a long time in the Reserves).
Possibly a fact that a lot of players had come back from league and did not mentally adjust to the Reserves if you catch my drift.

Our tackling fell off and only saw what I had seen all season for a max of half a qtr then we went to sleep.

We kicked ourselves out of the game and at stages had a lot more scoring shots than Subi but they were points not Goals.
Having said that the conditions were windy and getting through the big sticks wasnt easy as can be shown by the League games today even by Subi League who just couldnt find the goals..

Now I could go on including the out of bounds on the full (possibly due to wind again) that I saw at least 6/7 times. Now they are all turnovers you cannot give the opposition.

The Ruck performed well (Seva) even with the inclusion of Stockley who made a difference. From what I heard today he will be back in the league to be used up forward and in the ruck.

We won the ball out of the centre so no excuse and the ball went forward but where were all our Jet forwards? Did our players kick to them?
Lets have a look at the stats Fowler 6 possessions NO goals, Zanetti 7 possessions NO goals... Now lets look at our goal kickers B) and Best on ground.

Yes small forwards and regular reserves players. I rest my case.

GOALS: 1 B.O'regan, C.Chalmers, D.Rohde, M.Mcphee, C.Branch
BEST: K.Shannon, S.Marusic, B.King, J.Morrow

Dont know who makes up the best players but Manzone had a blinder and was my Best for WP

Here are the stats. Read into them what you will. Knowing our coach he would have a lot more on paper and Fine Tune the team and bring it back to what it was that is guaranteed Knowing Paul.

Our Reserves will bounce back and would of learnt a lot from today and next week will go out there to prove something. Subi will not see the same team if we meet them in the GF.

Gotta get over CLA first who had a good win today.

Seeya all next week. Great to see a lot of Red and Blue at Leederville today.

I left half way through the second quarter of the gutter scum v Subiaco and what a pi55 poor attendance of the ferals. the ferals stand was half empty. Subiaco don't have a huge supporter base but they put the ferals to shame. that goes to prove that a genuine club like Subiaco will be supported by its members and followers. a club like the ferals will only be supported by a few trough eating wife bashers that have never seen a dentist in their lives. my feral mate had a go at his mrs because he woke up in the middle of the night to have a pi55 in the sink and she hadn't washed up. he has a picture of Malcolm brown on his mantelpiece to keep the kids away from the fire. terrible turnout by the ferals today.

Your a gutless coward Screemer hiding behind a keyboard suck mothballs you old girl. I only saw four garlic supporters turn out to watch their only team in the finals. Two little fat grey haired worms and an old skeletal limp wrist looking thing. That bald sword sucker was there too, which one was you. Didn't even look like their parents turned up which was smart because the team put up the most gutless display in the history of finals. Stop talking shite or you will get a fist stuffed down your throat.

Well goodness me - besides being blind to the actual numbers of supporters who turned up to watch the WP reserves play ...... You shouldn't beat around the bush ROYAL2019 but rather say what you really mean.
