At round three it might be bit early to say there is pressure on the West Perth match committee.
But there are a few raised eyebrows after two consecutive losses to open the Falcons’
premiership defence.
The reasons for the West Perth machine failing to hit top gear are a little tough to identify.
The Falcons had the ball almost 50 times more than Claremont in round two yet were
dominated by the Tigers in the second half. There can be no doubting the
work rate of Shane Nelson, Steven Browne and Rohan Kerr but the
inability of West Perth to work as a team has been worrying.
Anthony Tsalikis has provided some inspiration for the Falcons.
Not only has he been a reliable creator in attack but his defensive pressure has helped his team lock the ball in the forward line. Now they need to capitalise on that effort.
Perth’s confidence is sky-high after two wins on the trot and Dene White’s leadership has been a big reason behind the successes.Mitch Leyendekkers has emerged as a
quality WAFL ruckman, Callum Collard is having great effect as a small forward
while Gerald Ugle has become a strong carrier of the ball into attack.
The youngsters’ efforts give the Demons great hope for the rest of the season

No problems mate. It could be worse, you could be on the Peel thread. Last person on there was tumbleweed haha

Annoyed that we lost as we made mistakes in the last that cost us as your boys went forward and capitalised. Still though 2-1 to start the season, third on the ladder and only a 3 goal loss against the reigning premiers.

Good WAFL game by two genuine WAFL clubs, Perth played well and WP finally recorded their first win, congratulations to both teams for giving me a great game to watch.

The crowds are a big worry, is it just me or are the crowds this year down big time?
