Good result for the Ressies and put them in the hunt for a final 4 spot

Good to see Sala had a good one and kicked 3 goals as well.. Must be ready to come back up now :) Click on image for larger view

Phew close one... WP to a Bye and then play SF who just went down to Cla by 4 points
No easy games in this comp..

I think both WP and CLA learnt a lesson today.. Both took the foot off the pedal and almost got run down :(

Apparently massive gale last term assisted them, but to get within 10 pts would be a worry. Your right, no easy ones and 7 days a long time

Peel lost two players in the first five minutes of the game so their rotations were stuffed. Fifty four points up and to win by fourteen points, Bill was not happy.

I only hope West Perth don't take their position within the top 4 for granted? After todays narrow win they now have a handy buffer over Swan Districts and Perth, the Falcons need to keep pushing on. Swan Districts have the better percentage out of Perth and East Fremantle. Hardly surprising coach Monaghan is unhappy. West Perth let slip a good opportunity to boost the % today.

Second spot isn't sealed yet, but I am not too sure whether finishing second this year is desirable really

Peel targeted Strijk & nelson, that was an instruction from their coaches, that was part of their game plan. Peels talls were a problem for our backs and in my opinion we do not play Peels shorter ground all that well. A win is a win, not a flash win especially when Peel were one man down and a fellow with a broken nose blocking Nelly from the second quarter onwards.

Yep, all understood Sd. One could assume Claremont to finish the qualifying rounds on top of the league ladder. The positions of the remaining teams is not certain.
If Swan Districts and Perth win next week, it will put pressure on West Perth and the Sharks. The following week, West Perth (at home) take on South Freo and the Falcons are no certainties to win. The Southerners are going to give a good account of themselves and have been unlucky in most of their games. The next two rounds are going to be most interesting.

I would prefer the safety blanket of the double chance over a sudden death first semi final. There is also the possibility of an upset & finding yourself in the Grand Final if Claremont have an off day.

My thoughts exactly puppy. To have the second chance is a better prospect I feel. To qualify for the Grand Final after finishing too far down the ladder is more difficult in my opinion. Finals footy is different and teams would be unwise to spend all the pennies too early.
