I see Geoff Valentine has left to go and coach Peel Thunder. Who’s the early favourite to be coaching the Falcons in 2022 as I bet you weren’t expecting to be looking for a new coach. 

Amazing decision to leave a club that should be challenging strongly next year to go and be a Fremantle puppet. Maybe he’s worried about not getting paid at WP.
 

Darren Harris comes to mind.After departing Claremont, following that narrow 2020 GF loss.
Can't see a new coach being a problem for West Perth.Good team with a solid stable lineup.

Nobody saw this coming.
Not even Mr Exclusive - Townsend no mention on air this morning.
We will never get rid of this mob to make it an even by numbers competition.

So he gets released by WP from his contract under the guise that he is moving up to an AFL linked/paid gig. Peel have only extended their alignment by one year and given indications they want to stand alone after next year. Also pulled out at the last minute after being told he had the EF job before accepting the WP job. 

Be interesting to see if Harris wants the job.

Might not be the only established coach on the move. Could be a short hunt for the next WP coach.

Valentines chasing the money and a fulltime gig, cant be criticised for that, seems like an amicable parting with Joondy as they could have held him to the final year of his contract. Would not be surprised if Joondy already have someone lined up. Favourite son Harris would be an obvious choice and Joondy's player list is pretty strong and getting stronger next year with Hutchings and Meadows returning, they will have close to the best midfield group in the comp.
