So according to JT they still intend to resume with a WAFL reserves team in 2021 which is a big big surprise. What is not a surprise is they want a substantial discount on the $450,000 license fee to field a team. Why should they get a discount? If normal crowds resume next year and list sizes and soft cap is reduced they will make a substantial profit.

This throws a spanner in the works. If Peel want to end their alignment then will we have an 11 team comp?

Tell WC to go forth and multiply, why do they deserve a discount, on what grounds? If they want to play in our comp they can bloody well pay for it. They still have mountains of cash stashed away. If WC do resume their ressies then it's almost guaranteed Peel will stay slaves to Freo and we keep the 10 team comp, 2 rounds of 9 games.

Don’t think the Eagles should have a substantial discount for the right to play in a league that helps to feed them. 450k out of 40 plus mil, plus assets isn’t a big ask.

A counter argument being why should WCE pay a premium to support a competition that is supplying players to their AFL competitors. Just saying.......

I’m sure it would suit the wafl clubs to get their listed players back if the eagles don’t want to pay a licence fee.

Have a look at the Eagles prospectus from their inauguration back then.....it would seem it is not only the Eagles who have seemingly forgotten that but the muppets at the WAFC who own this mob as well!

BH: thanks bease: one day the powers that be whose 'job' it is to run the game will actually deny that the the club was set up to subsidise the WA-FL; it is unlikely that the clubs would have voted as they did back then, if they thought they were losing access to all of their players all of the time.
