Lots of players out there tonight played like reserves players struggling with the faster tempo at league level.
just throw the ball on the boot or handball willy nilly to a player being covered and hope for the best.

When you play Subi you have to role out a different game plan, tight defence by our half forwards on there running half backs and man up on loose players 10 to 20 metres away from stoppages. And for christ sake when you have a midget forward line dont just bomb it in.

Smokey i reckon we have been way off the mark for a long long long time and tbh i dont see things changing
.
Just a thought on next season i know Shane Kersten is no world beater but i reckon he could hold down a KP forward role at wafl level, can only see Gold coast picking him up and thats highly unlikely.

BC how do you figure Subi are going to go up against Perth in the finals???

That's a good question 30plus given we have three or four premiership players due back from injury in the next week or two. I think Perth will play finals but how you go will depend on availability. To go deep you'll need a full list and Earl must be brutal at the selection table. There were a couple last night that just weren't up to it and don't think I have to name them as you'll know who I'm talking about. The fact you've beaten Souths, ran Claremont close recently and have been pretty competitive over the season suggests to me you're not far off getting into a GF...it just depends on which Perth shows up on the day.

Beasley Hutton wrote: As an outside observer fellas I thought some of our Eyres tap work in the ruck last night was outstanding and set up some clean clearances for the likes of Yeo, Jones, Leggett etc and had the Subi mids on the hop the only problem was the Subi defence are very good at reading the play early and they virtually intercept marked most of those long balls in.

BH is on the money here, I thought the Perth ruck and mids clearly had our measure for most of the game, it was Subi's backline that picked off the poor Perth entries at will and set up the overlap going forward. The Perth backs tried their arses off but Subi's delivery into the forward 50 by comparison was excellent and Spaldings decision to put the young bloke on Sok was not the smartest move, once the lad was moved he showed a bit and looks like a good player, he certainly never dropped his bundle at any time.

if Perth can tidy up their forward entries then there's no reason they cant finish off with three wins and hopefully get a home final.

You know what would have been huge for PFC over the last few weeks - a Corey Byrne who had not been driven into the turf by a Subiaco animal.

Backwards and forwards Ted.....love how you call the likes of Newton, Lockyer, Kitchin, De La Hunty Litherland etc elite...they all played less elite footy than some of those Perth ex AFL recruits.....not sure how you think paying someone more money suddenly changes them into being elite....would of thought the emphasis on character, culture, winning environment, high standards of expectation within Subi, facilitated these guys into wanting to become elite and staying in that elite environment.....which in turn their success and the clubs success results in a better pay packet...I ask again.....why have the likes of Sokol, Heal etc lesser lights at their previous clubs suddenly become good to elite players....simply a better pay packet or being ensconced within a culture with higher standards than other rival clubs....which are.....?....yes Subi have developed a magic formula to success....sustained success....but you reckon...I reckon....we could be at this all day hey mate?...

Jeez I’d hate to be in the trenches with some of you blokes. Yes, I agree some unfathomable decisions – young Connor Sing on Suckhole, mindlessly bombing to the top of the square, how high our forwards press up etc etc. All agreed. But steady on with sacking the entire forward line. Who’d want to play in that forward line with the way the ball comes in? How many times were our forwards running AWAY from the ball carrier trying to get out the back like it was Auskick?

We matched it with $ubi in the middle and back half for most of the game. If you were at the game you’d also have seen how incredibly high $ubi’s backs press up, how Lockyer is always last back so we can’t get behind them for a seagull goal, how fast they run back and spread etc etc. It is incredible to watch. We played super dumb footy in the forward half of the ground, no doubt about it. But to be able to match it with $ubi in the rest of the ground – and I know that’s not their best 22 out there – was great to watch and gives me hope we’ll get the 1 or 2 more we’ll need to lock up a finals berth.

Dazz I am with you 100%.

Accepting, as I think you do, that the forward line could improve a bit, maybe even a lot, then I am super confident that we otherwise really have something to work with.

We really have a dip and our midfield and backline are great.

To judge us out of a Subi game is silly given they are, as we all agree, on a different planet.

I reckon we have the nucleus of a top side there. I am very confident we win the last three games if we bring what we did last week and last night.
I reckon Yeoy and Rog have really stepped up with voice and leadership in last few weeks.

I think we are a good chance to be the team that gets flogged by Subi in a GF in next couple of years.

We have a decent core but fall away after our top dozen or so players and are lacking depth. Narrier could and should be the outside mid we need if he can switch on. Ninja and/or Roe could still be capable small forwards who I think would benefit from having a good tall target at full forward. McInnes would be a good get, no world beater, but would give us structure and bring the smalls into the game more. But if these players aren't going to show enough consistency and desire we have to recruit players who will.

You are not wrong Ted but I was more worried about depth s few weeks ago, much less so now given Payne, Jones, Sing, and others like Davis, coniglio and Burke can play. Roe and ninja are form issues. We are closer than I had thought.
