I am so looking forward to this one and I think selection is going to be fascinating. Hill is the obvious replacement for Sinkers. I thought Langdon showed he was getting the hang of it last week but for mine he was probably given his debut ahead of time and should have earned it thought the twos. My concern is that he hasn't displayed just how hard you have to work in the wafl to get your hands on the footy. He hadn't been making multiple leads etc. Last chance for mine to show penny has dropped. So I'm saying no changes other than the forced one but if say bj did come in I would still be positive.

And agree we have to try and limit Bolton but no-one who has played league in our squad has shown themselves to be a consistentlh good stopper. Maybe someone from left field comes in to do that job?

I keep harping on about Roe but I think this week he should get a run. WIth Sinclair out we need another defender but considering it will be wet Zac Hill is not the obvious choice, I would bring in Roe. He can provide the run as well as intercept marking ability. I understand he was really good against EP.
Due to the weather factor Brown of Gordon might be another good inclusion and to replace Langdon. Give us another body that can run through the middle when needed.

CM my mob have beaten EP, EF, WCER & Peelmantle only 1 of those currently in the 5, so not much better than CL so expect Perth to be more than competetive v the 2 pre-season favourites

Could Horan or Payne tag? Have they ever done this role?

Bloody good point, SS. I hadn’t noticed that. I’m not suggesting for a minute that any of this means a certain win for Perth this weekend. Far from it. It’s way too early in the season to be making any assumptions. What I am hoping for is that maybe this season might end up being a bit closer and a bit more unpredictable than many, including I, thought.

Bring on Saturday. Can’t wait.

CM it should be a great round of footy and hoping for 5 good hard but close games.

Re the 4 top teams in SU, P, CL & SF it will depend on keeping their best 22 on the paddock, injuries to 2 or 3 key players can be a disaster if you dont have some quality in the 2's where Cl, Su & SF occupy the top 3 spots so expect they may be able to cover injuries better than Perth. I said earlier in the season that we need to get to the halfway point when everyone's played each other before we have a clearer picture, but it would be great if we end up with 3 or 4 teams in the mix for top 2 and 8 teams in the mix for top 5 at the final H & A round. I think its reasonable to eliminate EF & WP as finals contenders even though 9 wins and a decent % should get you in.

I still rate Henderson as a tagger. I think against SF he did a good job on Schloithe when he was in the midfield, but struggled when he went forward. That was a good move by Curley. However, despite the strength of Claremont's midfield, I wouldn't want to replace Sinclair with someone playing a completely different role. If push comes to shove and one of Claremont's mids is running amok, we could divert one of our players to a tagging role. Perhaps even CJ, since he played that role so well in the AFL. We will need to consider the weather in terms of replacing Sinclair with another tall or a smaller player. Maybe Horan or Payne could play a sweeping role off half back. We will miss Sinclair's intercept marking but if wet that may not be as important.

Brandt Colledge and Corey Byrne are the only Perth players named in 31 man State squad.
No doubt Sinkers would have been there if he were fit. Perhaps Leggett and CJ a bit stiff to miss out.
Not sure that Eyresy would rank high enough for selection

In the west John Townsend speculated that with Higgins out could be Eyres or Eastland.
