After a solid 4-5 weeks of footy can the Demons travel to Joondalup and take it right up to the Falcons who it’s fair to say have had a long period of dominance over us for 15-16 years.

Last week was the first time under Earl that we went in with an unchanged lineup. Kasey Nicholas is available after serving his 4 week suspension while Christian Eyres has had two games back in the reserves and Zac Hill was playing good football before he was injured and missed a week but played ressies last weekend.

Jared Bell and Spencer White only played limited minutes last week, roughly a half each I’ve been told. You would think both would play reserves again this week with White possibly coming into calculations after the bye and Bell maybe after he’s played 4-5 games in a row and depending on how he pulls up each week after being out for almost two years.

Lachlan Dennis has a foot injury according to the injury list on the clubs website. So if he doesn’t come up and we make one other change I would suggest bringing in Eyres and Hill. Eyres to share ruck duties with Giblett and when Giblett isn’t there plays down back while when Giblett’s rucking Eyres pushes forward. Hill to come in to play down back to cover Giblett when he goes in the ruck.

Hopefully the Demons stick to the task at hand and play four tough quarters with no lapses in concentration.

I know I have said it before, but I really think its time for Marlin to be called up. He is the perfect choice to cover Dennis if he doesn't pull up. He is also able to move down back to cover Giblett when he moves into the ruck. Lennon is a big body and and experience and versatility is exactly what we need against a very strong WP forward line.

Eyres, Hill, Shaun Smith and Marshall Jones come into the side while Blake Johnson is out.

This is the game that the Perth FC can stand up after 21 years & say “ we can & deserve to play finals”

Confidence and self belief is dawning but that alone will not win games. It still takes the commitment, the focus and the utmost will to win.
All that is what is needed week in week out and it looks like this group knows it. To put it onto action consistently is the trick but it will come. The club needs to back these boys in for the rest of the season and then before next season go and find the recruits needed to put the icing on the cake and turn the club into premiership material.

Poor second quarter. Black and Nelson already have 41 possessions between them.

Demons need to come out hard in the third quarter and get some early goals.

Gave away a couple of silly free kicks however it was the second quarter where they kicked eight goals and we were only able to kick two that hurt. We seemed to turn the ball over a bit today which didn't help either. 15 straight games the Falcons have beaten us by now.

The Demons won every quarter apart from the second and missed about three to four gettable goals. 72 disposals between Nelson and Black. Those two have terrorised us for years.

Yep, one bad quarter. A familiar tale. Frustrating when we can consistently play good football and yet crucial lapses cost us dearly. We do have to do better.

Despite that poor quarter we did butcher the ball today and if we had taken our chances, even with the poor second quarter the game would have been a lot closer than the 21-point margin and we may have even snatched a narrow victory.
