I tell you what you're very good at polishing turds, what sort of timeline are you setting on Perth coming good because the way it looks now a decade is to short.

Gradual improvement this year, continuing to build on work ethic and skill shown so far this year. Good recruitment for 2019 and we will be right up there next year beer can.

PN we unearth supporters that see stuff that most of us fail to see.
By the end of todays game we will be sitting in a spot on the ladder we are familiar with,8th.

This current rebuild seems to be treading water, like all the others.
Not only rebuilds but how many lights at the end of the tunnel have we been through?

I see we still leak through more goals than any other defence in the comp, that’s been the case for how many seasons?

Back line a definite problem, really miss Sinkers when he doesn't play. Recruitment focus must be there. Lets's look at the comp tho. Sd won't win too many, neither will cl and ef have wasted their money. We won't finish near bottom stand on me.

PN not my club so I try not to comment too much but do you think that the issue is that Perth are not an attractive proposition for players to be part of, Swans are due to the better winning ratio, EF splashed a bit of cash but have been thereabouts in recent times so they got a few (although next year maybe an issue if they don't win soon and maintain it). Perth needs to be made an attractive proposition and I am not sure how you do that, perhaps it is an issue where if Perth offers up a similar or better contract to a player then they go to Perth over say 2 seasons to bolster the playing stocks. Just an idea from outside oh the first place I would go is Subi on a Monday morning between now and june 30.

westaussieguy wrote: Perth's high Tackle count in this match surprised me. 96 is the figure given. The highest tackle count so far this season. Which is 32 more that the opposition. Although Perth had 41 less Ball Disposals, they had an Inside 50's count of 53 which is 1 more than the team formerly known as east perth had.

Sometimes you tackle more cos you ain't the ball and are chasing tails.

Fire away Grump, always interested in your thoughts. It probably is a hard sell for PFC but the weird thing is don't miss out on too many, except to Subiaco. We compete pretty well with other clubs and not sure there are too many we went hard at that missed out on. The much bigger problem is blokes wanting to leave PFC due to the grind. We are hoping we've got group that will push through where elari, Rodgers, busher, jones, kt, bossy etc didn't.

Most potential recruits don't want to know Perth because of our onfield history. We have had a crack at many good players in recent times but they just want to play with the club that is most likely to win the flag.
I believe that we had the best offer on the table for Zac Clarke but he chose the next best ...Subiaco. Some do choose the money over a flag but that may not always be PFC with the best offer anyway.
Hard to compete with that. Other clubs have the same problem. East Fremantle have splashed a bit of coin around in the last two years and what has it got them? Not a lot apparently.

STT, re those Perth players who jumped ship, Bossong won a flag with SF first year out then disappeared, Jonesy did have a very good second career at Peel, and Bush is going ok at Claremont. The other three would not have made much difference to our performances had they stayed.
And you can add Doogs and Ugle to that list. Daniel Bandy had a good post AFL career at Claremont and Robbie Haddrill went to SF but was cruelled by injuries and had little or no impact.

Agree with all that Smoke but disagree that we can't and don't compete well enough with everyone but soob. Who is at other wafl clubs that we had a proper go at?
