Even fixturing for 9 teams is really not that hard. One set of 9 rounds with every team playing each other once and each team has one bye. Repeat with venues swapped. And to make 22 games, finish the season by replaying the first four rounds. Yes there are big days like the Foundation Day derby, so you slot those games in first and build the rest around them. There will be one round of five byes. So make that the opening round featuring the top 4 from the previous year playing a grand final replay and 3 v 4. Each team should play each of the other teams every nine weeks and at the opposite venue. Two identical games four weeks apart at the same venue is amateurish. But yes, ten teams will make things easier. But even then, fixtures will be created to suit the AFL teams' byes first so it will still be a balls-up.

Each WAFL clubs wants to play certain teams at certain times of the season CM. 9 teams does make it harder to try and make an even fixture but each team wants to try and capitalise on a bumber home crowd to make the most coin. Taking into account all the clubs demands then it is very hard to try and get an even fixture.

I reckon our on field problems might be the result of our District/Zone. Just a thought.

It may be partly to blame but it's only a small portion of the problem STT.

Total League games played (WAFL only) by Saturday's team agqinst Subiaco 637
An average of 29 games per player.

DF together with EP you have had the worst zone in the competition in the last forty years. In the last ten years, I think WP have startted to struggle as well owing to the demographics of Western Australia being unfavourable to Aussie Rules.

Grassy: that is true, but only the group from around the turn of the century would have won the flag had it not been draftted. Oher clubs have certainly had better zones then that over the same time frame.

Well that's $5,000 well spent by our football department.
