Great that we have been able to sign former Perth players in Clem Smith and Brant Colledge. That's a positive start.

Don't know much about Clayton Giblett apart from the fact he is tall and has played State 18's footy.

Now if we are able to sign a second ruckman, key defender, bring Tendai home and convince Trops that his future is with us then I would be pretty pleased with that.

Terrific news that Troppy has signed on for 2017 and resisted offers from the vultures always looking for a feed off dead carcuses. To be honest I thought we wouldn't see Brandt Colledge back not sure why but at age 22 he's a great get for our club and Clem Smith as well. Colledge and Smith coming back and Troppy staying can only help the strengthen the clubs case for Tendai to return to the Demons.

I agree but i'm also mindful that both Clem and Brandt have had a lean couple of seasons,Clem at VFL level and Brandt at East Perth.
Dont get me wrong both are good gets but we need them firing at close to if not at there best for 2017.

Tendai is certainly the next piece of the jigsaw and a couple of talls in the xmas stocking would be nice.

Brandt was the form player in the first half of 2015 IMO. Get back to or close to that form and he will do very nicely.

In regards to Clem, where do people see him playing. I reckon off a half back flank.

Yep he has to get back to that form of 18 months ago.

Yeah maybe Clem's role will be off half back but i'd like to see how he goes in the midfield maybe as wingman to start off with.

Apologies if either of these things have already been said on here but Perth have signed Devin McFarlane (former Peel) on a two-year deal, and have spoken to Jack Hannath. Imagine he will be in significant demand across the competition.

I read somewhere that Clem played some footy in the forward line in the VFL and would like an opportunity to move forward with Perth.

Clem only kicked 3 goals in 12 appearances at VFL level in 2015 and in 15 games in 2016 only kicked 4 goals for the season.
I have heard he didnt set the world on fire in his time when playing in the VFL,may have been a confidence thing, who knows.

I personally don't see him playing as a forward.
I see Clem as a more crash and carry type of player and would be better suited for the team in the Midfield/wingman or coming off half back.

Tom Lee is out of the picture as a potential key forward recruit. He's committed to Claremont. I'm sure the club is working hard on recruiting in other areas of need. Getting Tendai, Colledge and Smith back from AFL is a great start. And the retention of Tropiano is significant, almost like a recruit in my eyes as he was considered as good as gone at the end of last season.

We are used to bleeding good players recruiting only to replace the losses. For the first time in a long time we are firmly in the black.
