Liam Anthony was runner-up in the J.J Liston Trophy (VFL B&F) this year. If he gets delisted from the Kangaroos is he worth a chance. Has pace to burn from memory and always seemed to find the ball. I think his disposal is good but not excellent and can be prone to the occasional blunder.

wow interesting stuff, just a point regarding the colts!

as a parent who's son has gone through a colts system and is playing league there is always things that can be done better - believe me there is a disconnect between junior clubs and players, not to mention a mentality that "she will be right" for these type of players.

for the record my son has not come through the EP colts and obviously I wont disclose where he is playing!

gents remember not to bury your heads in the sand, sometimes things might not be as rosy as they seem, when you see the other side it can be quite a shock!

It's not that rosy at the PFC Ed. Lack of on field success for a long time now. Players treating the club with a half arsed attitude and thus their performances not being up to scratch on game day. Players breaking down through injury. Lack of juniors that have come through the system and been developed over the last 10 or so years. The fitness of players is seriously questionable, even if the game plan was physically taxing. Poor decisions at board level in regards to coaches appointments over the years and poor recruiting being done as well.

However the club for all these faults have worked hard to make sure that we make a small profit each year and are one of the most financial clubs in the league. I think we sit third. We have a centurions fund which is common knowledge and the club themselves can't just take money willy nilly out of that. That's why there are trustees responsible for it. We don't want to go back to the days before the centurions fund where finances weren't so stable.

And you sound like an interfering old fart who only just found the internet and now are trying to prove to people that you dont know and who dont give a shit if you live or die that you are a football genius. My two oldest kids left EP colts/development on their own accord as did a number of others due to that idiot Michael Braun who tried to turn everyone into incredible hulks destroying many young bodies and his successor Clint Auty(sp?) who had the personality akin to yours. They are now at a club that may not be in the four but the environment is 10 times better.

How many people do you need to tell you about the finances of PFC before you will p off? People post here what is known but you prefer to listen to your neighbour's uncles best friend's girlfriend. Just worry about your sell out club and leave Perth and its many problems to those of us that care about it.

Ed, this is a good post and despite differences, you understand what the kids coming through colts have to put up with. My guys and a number of others who left EP felt like it was a meat market and constant bickering between amateur club and East Perth about where they played, when, how long etc. It may have improved over past 2/3 years but where they are at now, there is still the occasional brick wall but it seems to be not as high.

NOW I understand a lot of great players got you into grand finals in the period 1960-1978; but that is the point: you were defeated by the PFC on nearly every big occasion.

which makes you the worst team in the competition for the last 35 years, because, according to EP's own logic, they are 'a club of great tradition', whom should be doing better than an inferior club, such as, Perth.

Yep -- the gap between rhetoric and reality is very great for most EP supporters, especially since 1978 and 2000.

LB you are having a go at Perth supporters, yet they are the ones who still have a club to support. What do you have? Even the Eagles' coach refers to your supposed club as their reserves' team. For all the lack of success in recent times at Perth they still support their club and one hopes for their sake that they will have some success in the coming seasons. You have a shell of a club where supporters such as yourselves go through the facade of pretending that it is still East Perth. Perhaps you should read some of the posts of Grump and his ilk who are feeling the hurt of a disenfrachised East Perth league team and only support legitimate East Perth teams (colts and reserves).

A lot more than EP have in the bank I would suspect.
