I get the feeling that all interest in our season has been lost following our last few games. We were ok against SF, but the less said about the EP, WCER and S games the better. There's not really much left to aim for apart from a bit of respect. So to the WP game. Regan Clarke is back through the reserves and Brodie Gray has been dropped. The only change to the league team is the sooner than expected return of Connor Sing. A loss by less than 8 goals would be a good result. The fine weather won't help, as WP run and spread much harder than we do. Meanwhile, John and Paton are out injured again after a short lived return.

I thought about doing a "Planning for 2024" thread, but then I figured there's no point. The answer is we need at least 6 absolute top shelf players, more players than we can possibly recruit in one off season. I guess EP managed to assemble Schumacher, Scott, Crowden, Brayshaw, Robinson and North (all within the salary cap, of course), plus some handy players from other WAFL clubs like Tedesco. So maybe there's hope, but we have to overcome a serious credibility problem to get players of that calibre to play for us, and nothing we have done this season will be appealing to good players and their managers.

Teddy you can also add Macreedie from the VFL and Randall from Peel to that list, and I’m pretty sure your coach Germo would rediscover his mojo with the 8 inclusions we’ve injected into our 2023 list.

Ben Stubbs to debut. Worked hard and has some tricks. Germo still having a look at who's got what on the list.

I know the club is chasing players for next season already. They have a target of five quality players. I reckon we'll know pretty soon after season's end whether they've got the ones they want.

Time to give Coen Livingstone a league debut. Next week ideal.

I'd leave Livingstone (and other colts) to play colts. Coen is likely to be drafted anyway, so there is nothing to achieve by having him play league. The colts have a chance at a flag, and it would be nice to see them finish on top. As it stands, there are 3 teams on 11 wins, so if we weaken the colts team, we may not finish top 2.

Ben Stubbs is ok, but let's be honest, like many others who have played league for us, he would be miles away from league footy at any other club.

Subiaco have played 14 compared to Perth and Claremont only 12 games.

And the way it will probably work is even if we finish top in the colts it will most likely be played at another ground because our league team isn't playing finals. It could be played at Claremont Oval which is grossly unfair. But hey what's new about that?

Perth will throw everything at us, I hope the W.P boys show respect to the Perth boys, we are not enemies we are rivals, two historic football clubs that go back many years. A win is a win but W.P need to win this game by six or seven goals, there is no way I believe this will be a for gone conclusion for a W.P win.
