Sinclair up forward was a proactive move and if we can get someone to fill his shoes in the backline could be worth pursuing full time. He was feeling his upper hammy in the last quarter so hope nothing serious.

Yes SS, it is in our blood, especially for those, like me, who revelled in our glory years of the 60s and 70s.
We just keep coming back despite the 40+ years drought that shows no sign of ending any too soon.
I made a comment to a lone EP supporter who was watching close by me, that we just do not have the cattle and have not had  all these years.
Last night, I noted 9 players who had an average of less than 9 possessions each.  Combined, they had 74 possessions out of the team total of 370. IMO it is just not good enough to have that many who have little or no impact on the game.
It equates to 40% of the team with only 20% of the team's possessions. We need a greater spread of impact players.
Too much left to too few.

What are you on about? Four players had 9 or less possessions.

Stack suspension an absolute disgrace as well.

Read my post again Dazzler. I said 9 players had an average of 9 possessions each. The individual possessions ranged from 13  to 4 for a total of 74 possessions for the group - 20% of the team's total.  I was wrong. To be accurate the average was 8.2 possessions each.

Huh? I’m still not sure what you are saying. Of those 9 one was on debut and had a shocker, two are key defenders, two are skinny kids playing in a defence unde seige and one is a bloke that if we had anyone else wouldn’t be playing. I’m not sure i’d be rapt getting 13 possessions and be told “nah, you only averaged 8 compared to your team mates”

It was the result I expected, their midfield dominated lead by probably the best midfielder in the competition Angus Schumacher. Be wary EP fans the WCE are watching.

Peter German is brutal but that's exactly what is required to set a standard much higher than mediocrity. He knows we don't have the cattle, we are a long way off but he is not going to make excuses and let players off who don't commit to the basics. Many won't survive because they haven't got it or they aren't prepared to do the work and follow the teachings.

Fingers crossed our colts are not a flash in the pan once in a decade talented bunch but a consistent upward trend.

Putting aside the stats, I believe we are playing too many players who are not up to it. That emphasizes the fact that we do not have enough cattle.
We have a mixture of players who have been around for a while but have not yet been able to become regular ins and so far not up to this level of competition. There are the new recruits. Of them, Charlie Thompson has shown that he is up for the fight - 29 disposals last night of which 24 were handballs indicating his willingness to take the game on and bring team mates into the game. His experience at VFL level shows.
Trent Manzone - 26 touches and classy by hand or foot. Cooley - 25 touches and very handy on debut for us.
Of the ES recruits they are trying hard but finding it difficult to stand up at WAFL level. They mainly come from lower levels of competition and used to small soft grounds and not yet accustomed to local conditions.
Only time will tell but for now the outlook is not at all certain.
