Any word about the stand? Will we have input on its design? Start dates?
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

The stand is due to go ahead Sept 2023 with 2 year build.
$4m shortfall in funding to be picked up by TOVP.
Yes we have had some input in design but it is a Council owned project.
I believe plans are completed.

All this talk about the off field staff is fine, but we needed Mundy to play and not just be an assistant coach.

Cess IMHO I have to disagree.
Not sure at 37 yrs of age and after the longevity in the AFL David was ever going to play WAFL.
Also not sure that spending maximum points on a 37-year-old is wise use of points.
May have got one season out of him.
Whatever role he has at the Club I am sure he will be a valuable addition.

I'm not sure the players that have departed have anything to do with the new coaching "highway" style. These players decided to leave half way through last season. And I for one can't blame them.  As mentioned at the AGM: There is a lot of disgruntlement from the players for the same reasons most supporters are annoyed - Lack of Care Factor from the club.

As for the financial position: It amazed me how they patted each other on the back for the financial position, including all the current sponsorship that is coming into the club. Take away the sponsors that have come through from the WCE and the balance sheet would look a little differently. Same with the board patting each other on the back for 2020 finals appearance. Would that have even happened without COVID and the WCE giving us Grey, Fraser and Fisher.
No wonder the players and supporter except mediocrity - because the board does.

25 people turned out to the Christmas Party tonight. A healthy bank account and that is the best they can put on for the members, players and supporters.  Honestly the club hasn't changed its ways since 1977. The BBQ for the sausage sizzle is about the same age.  New blood is needed in the club, not just ex players and mates.  I hope the new Pres sees this and takes action before its too late.

Tonight was just a sausage sizzle usually run by the past players association. I find them good value where supporters can mingle with players and officials and get up to speed. We don't need a buffet with caterer's running around offering finger food and champers.

PD, In fairness, it is best that everyone backs in the new President and Board IMHO. That goes for the new coach and his assistants and players also. Nothing to be gained by putting them down before the new season has begun.
Once the players have returned to pre-season training and all recruits have been confirmed we may start to see where it is all going.
Change for the better will be a work in progress. Not going to happen overnight. Rather it will be a slow process that gradually will gather pace.
In the meantime, the new regime both on and off the field time deserve to be allowed to get on with their jobs without the continual put-downs.

DD I agree, but you are taking it to the opposite extreme.  If you are happy with the same 25 people to finish the year on good for you. But for me its not enough to rebuild the club on.  There is a reason why the club has gone from over 2000 members in 2018 to under 1000 in 2022 (my understanding its now actually only 750).   Nothing is being done to bring new members and supporters to the club.

Smokey, I fully agree. But In fairness, I didn't put the new President, the new coach, assistant coaches or any players down and I do back them 100%.  But this is a forum to discuss issues and the biggest issues we have is still doing the same things we have been doing since the 70s and pretending we have been doing a good job which is what happened at the AGM (which is what this post is about - isn't it?).
