West Coast are trying to Fark us around with our new development people. They will win. They want all of Lathlain and will say they need it to fit in their AFLW team. They will want to play multi night games for their AFLW team and they will want specialised female change rooms. They don't want Perth there.

We have history @ The WACA.

The WACA should become the sporting museum of WA just like the MCG is in Vic.

The WACA like Adelaide oval could incorporate both Cricket and Footy.

Further I think East Perth should share the ground with us.

Benefits.

Rich area. Gees I went to Claremont yesterday - the whole town is buzzing. The Tiger players love being there. I also went to Leederville to see a half of Fyfe. Same thing there.

My son often goes to the footy @ Leederville. He and his mates wonder in and out - they might grab a burger on oxford street, bump into some girls - in effect they make a day of it.

There is no vibe in Lathlain.

If we were @ The WACA - done right. We would be back in Perth - back into a vibrant area and back into the heart of WA Sport.

Yes we would need a good bar deal and a good parking set up but I really think it would be the way to go.

That and getting one good  country zone of Claremont or Subi.
Victorians still laugh at West Aussies because of the way we bailed out the vfl and then allowed it to be called it the AFL!

Nice idea TFF and it's already a good venue to watch footy at, but good luck getting any sort of reasonable deal out of the WACA. I expect it will be a similar offer to what Joondy had when they moved up there and will send you broke, like it did to Joondy, so be careful what you wish for. As for being in an entertainment precinct like Leederville, Freo oval or Claremont, there's not much within reasonable walking distance of the ground, most is in and around the Claisebrook inlet precinct about 2k's away.

Perth and the Vic Park Council need to tell WC to go Phark themselves rather than everyone else, there's 2 full ovals at Lathlain, both floodlit, WC can train during the day and Perth and the WCW can train in the evenings, so no real clash. Subi and EP share Leederville without any problems and just 1 playing surface Surely when the new stand gets built, it wont be that hard to include a dedicated womens changerooms along with the new Perth rooms.

Nup, stupid idea..How is moving 5 minutes down the road going to change anything and comparing East Perth around where the WACA is to Leederville is not even close, it's a dead pocket of Perth.

Firstly Nisbett is dreaming, the locals around Lathlain Park don't want a bar of AFL football clogging their streets.

If we are going to move from Lathlain I'd plonk ourselves right in the heart of the southern corridor somewhere where we could demand our zone be around us. New growth. Maybe we go to Southern River where there's a shitload of undeveloped land and build a new stadium from scratch.

Let's be the Joondy of the south.

The East Perth Power Station redevelopment will happen soon and wont be far away from the WACA. Also the temporary bars near Gloucester Park could become Permanent. Throw in a redevelopment of Gloucester Park to boot.

DD - Southern River / Gosnells and the like are not where people want to travel to watch footy for mine worse than Lathlain.

No vision mate, it’s not about you and me it’s about the long term future of the club. If we are bold enough to cut the cord from Lathlain and move where the next and future generations are going to grow up then we’ll have a future. If we build a new stadium in the heart of the southern suburbs then we can demand those new growth suburbs. We can snatch Canningvale, Piara Waters Mundijong, Harrisdale etc from South and East Fremantle and Swans can pick up Belmont, Redcliffe, Carlisle, Lathlain. EF can have South Perth, Como and Manning. Maybe East Perth gets Vic Park.

At least future generations and even the current ones will identify with us and be closer to our club. Don’t tell me if we are successful we won’t travel. All you are thinking about is somewhere to drink piss before and after the game.

The Federal and State Governments have both committed $30 million each.Of the proposed $70 million Waca redevelopment.
It's ran into trouble early. With the City Of Perth walking away from the Aquatic Centre.Located where the Inverarity Stand is now.Theres not enough shaded areas+ they don't want the expence of the pools upkeep.
Channel 7 tried to get night Wafl matches to the Waca in 2018.The Waca said the reconfigure of the ground.Removing both the east and west grassed areas.Making an oval shaped footy field.Would cost around 1 million.Might be now waiting as part of the redevelopment. The Waca is really keen to get footy back there..Not sure about the Wafc.

Why would EF want farked up zones like South Perth, Como and Manning DD?......you just have to look at the South Metro comp to see older established EF suburbs like Applecross, Palmyra, Attadale have fark all junior teams.....most EF junior teams are from the Canning Vale, Bullcreek/Leeming and Winnacot clubs.....with Piara Waters coming through.....but still relatively new.

I know DF, what in fark is DD on about.....you for one being PFC old school, would be seriously distraught if Perth gave up PFC iconic zones in SP, Como and Manning for the likes of a Canning Vale and Piara Waters.....no respect for tradition eh?
