Brilliant hip and shoulder from Coniglio. WTF was that umpire thinking? What is this game coming to? Fing disgraceful but great game of footy.

I think that kick was given for deliberate out of bounds not the bump.
The kick was taken from the boundary line.
Still a stupid decision given the proximity of a team mate.
Those decisions always go against us at a critical moment usually sealing the game for the opposition.

Brave effort by the Dees today. Could not fault the intensity they showed. We won the second half 7goals to 4 and perhaps with an ounce of lucky might have got up.
We did learn a couple things today.
1. We have found a run with player. Brodie Gray kept Bolton to 10 touches. a great effort. Bolton  as usual grizzled about it all day.
2. Reid is developing and showing promise that he is learning how to play. 25 hitouts today.
3. Gibba playing forward and rucking kicked two goals and had 17 hitouts. He made one huge mistake but ran on hard and was able to regain possession just when it looked like we would pay dearly for the initial error.
4. The Birdman showed a bit today and is slowly finding his feet at this level. He must work on his kicking
Overall, we had our chances but did not have the finish to capitalise on our efforts. Claremont skill level was far better.
Can someone tell me why the Claremont runner was allowed to spend so much time on the ground actually coaching his players. Surely that should not be permitted.

2nd qtr 5 min - deliberate when Perth player taps to a teammate who misses. How is that deliberate?
15 min - 50m for no reason. Claremont player taken from edge of goal square to almost the centre circle. I haven’t been to Lathlain for a while. Is the ground much smaller than it used to be?
and the fuckwit had already called play on, but then decided it was a 50 for “holding” (then promptly marched him 70m)

I’d like someone to clarify what the rules are regarding runners in the WAFL. We obviously haven’t adopted the hard and fast rule change from a few years ago where runners are only allowed out in a break of play, after a goal I think, maybe a behind as well I’m not sure. Then they have to deliver their message and get straight off.

But surely there is a limit how long runners can stay out on the ground in the WAFL? And are they just there to send messages from the coach or are they allowed to coach out on the ground?

Because one of their senior players Declan Hardisty was their runner and he spent considerably more time on the ground in the last quarter when the game was on the line and remained very close to the action coaching the midfield around the stoppages. It was a bloody disgrace and someone at the club should have raised it with the 4th umpire and the club should lodge a notice of investigation with the umpires panel.

Why do you think the AFL took such drastic measures a few years ago? You can’t have the opposite happening in the second tier comps. He was out there in the way, coaching and rarely left the ground in the last quarter and when he did it was just a few seconds and back out there again. After a goal late in the game he ran to the centre circle and then ran to the opposite side of the square to the interchange just before the bounce. Needs to be investigated.

DD, I think you got the wrong Hardisty. Declan Hardisty was playing...had 9 touches.

That was a brave, spirited performance today. Intensity and tackling pressure dropped off in that second quarter and we let them kick 6 and that was the game.

We are finding a few in this disastrous season. Brogan-Henry did a top job on Manuel and Grey was superb again in a tagging role - Ramsay and Bolton shaded last two games, impressive.

But for some better finishing - Bird, who was good, three posters - that game was ours.

Good effort. We are right back in the mindset we have held for 40 years, no expectation of actually winning, just losing honourably. Smokey, I don't think Reid is up to it at league level. OK today, but absolutely monstered by Vardy and Jones. I don't know whether he qualifies for the reserves finals. If he doesn't I think we should swap him and Eyres for the last two games to make sure Reid can qualify. Plus Eyres deserves to have a farewell game.

Disappointing day all round. Bad loss to the reserves, who are still not quite safe. That said, we should win comfortably against Peel in 2 weeks and seal finals. Colts... another 95 point loss. The team averages 33 points a game. The only positive there is that we have been taught that all we need to do is work our zone more and everything will fall in place. Imagine how bleak our future would look if we had a really bad lower socio-economic zone.

Ok then the shorter one with the pony tail. Is it Lachlan? Fair dinkum coaching runner out there in the last qtr.

Daz I’d add Sam Perkusich to that list. I’m starting to be real impressed with Sammy. Great game by Brodie Gray. Got right under Bolton’s skin and he hated it and apart from a good last qtr goal was ineffective.

Great game by Gibba, nearly dragged us over the line in the last qtr.

Maybe resorting to playing a few blokes coz we have to may unearth a couple of prospects.
They are being given a genuine chance to show what they have.
