DBW and Eyres, what a success today.
Can I assume they rested on the ground and up forward.
They have never individually had stats like that.
It is fantastic that Moss experimented with something that we have been calling for and no other Perth coach has dared to try.
For decades we have not seen the value of big blokes.
As they say they don't get shorter as the days goes on.
We should continue the experiment.
Didn't see the game but followed it on the app.
I was disappointed that we could kick six in the first quarter and then only 5 for the last 3.
May be someone could explain that for me.

DF a bit of it had to do with Busher having to move to the backline after Sinclair rolled his ankle in the first quarter. Bushy was competing well in the air and giving us a target.

Yep, I have to eat humble pie on the two rucks today. Both took marks up forward, each kicked a goal. Should have been two for DBW but he butchered one from 10m out. DBW also took an important mark deep in defence and both he and Eyres worked well linking up through the middle. I thought we made a lot of silly skill errors after quarter time, especially missing short passes, but we worked hard all day for an important win. Grey outstanding. Busher's versatility showed its worth straight away. Still, I think we will need to find 3-4 more goals, 11 won't win too many games. Masto hopefully to come back back in next week, probably at the expense of Hendo. Davis responded well in the twos to what I thought was a pretty rough dropping, but do you change a winning team? And surely Avery has to come up to the reserves from here.

Eyres had a shocker in the second qtr turned the ball over many times which I thought halted our run. Not putting all the blame on him there were other culprits but team mates have to know their team mates weaknesses and not ask him to hit you on the tit 25 metres backwards in the opposition forward line.

Busher and Fisher were two huge ins today. Both experienced and versatile players you can throw anywhere. Two Dads starting at FF along with Busher and Eyresy in the ruck caused EF problems in the first term and we were on from the first bounce. Funny isn’t it sometimes you can tell if your team is up for it or not. Against Swans we were flat and on the back foot from the get go.

Ideally we have McInness as the backup ruckman to DBW who showed some really good skills. He is normally a reliable shot for goal. It wasn’t 10 metres out Ted, maybe where he took the mark but that pocket along with the other one on the opposite side at the other end are the two most difficult areas on the ground to score at EF oval.

And Hendo can hold his head high in my book and holds his spot next week. I guess if everyone is fit and Masto available then maybe his spot is in question but Sinclair would be in doubt and Brady Grey was very sore and I think Clarke was a bit lame late.

I think a player who could benefit from a spell in the two’s is Connor McPartland. Probably not suited to playing as a stationary forward but not playing a small forwards role well. Darby McCarthy has booted bags of 5 today and 3 a few weeks ago. Probably deserves a go.

McCarthy is listed as 65kg, which I think is too light for league footy. I haven't seen him play, so maybe he has other attributes. There is probably a good reason why he hasn't played league by age 24. McPartland had a few runs through the middle, which I'm sure is where the club sees his future. But I agree, his form hasn't been great and he may come under some pressure, especially with Masten and Yeo hopefully due to return soon, and some reserves players like Davis, Clark, Gray, playing well. But running McPartland through the middle gives us options, like giving Langlands time in the forward line, which worked well.

On another note, is Elijah Taylor still around? I only ask because I noticed Busher was allocated number 22, which is Taylor's number on the team list. He can play reserves from 15 May, which is the State game bye. (of course, it may not go ahead). He will have to really play well at that level to play league, but the more players we have in the twos putting pressure on the league the better. Likewise you would hope that Avery will be pushing for a league spot over the next month or so.

Any win is a good win on that dung heap.
It was a win this club needed especially coming off 2 losses and in particular the insipid effort we put up against Swans.
Now to back it up next week.
Hopefully we can put enough wins on the board between now and when we get Smith McIness and Yeo back into the team and hopefully Taylor who could be the goal kicking small forward we need.

Ted WP’s Keegan Knott could saddle up at Ascot and wouldn’t look out of place and that guy torments us every time we play them and kicks a few most weeks. From glimpses I’ve seen of him he rarely misses. He might be the small forward we’ve been missing. Good finishers are worth their weight (pardon the pun) in gold.

Well if Elijah Taylor is fair dinkum about getting drafted which is the reason he opted to agree with the AFL’s demands, then he should be ticking every box on the track and getting ready to go on May 15. I wouldn’t worry too much about guernsey numbers, Busher was initially on the clubs website as number 15 which was his old number but McPartland wears that number now.

3 Votes - Brady Grey
Fisher made a terrific return.
Zac Hill played his best game for the year.

A measure of our desperation for a forward that we’re considering McCarthy. Why not Morecombe? He’s bigger. Not saying I have the answer, just a matter of acknowledging we’re not going into the 4 unless we find someone to kick goals.

Spot on PD. We definitely need to find that small forward who can kick goals. I'm a fan of Morecombe. I'd play him ahead of Browne and Quill.

Agree PD. We'll need to kick a few cricket scores to get get into the top 5.
