I am hoping that Army and Chance can have an impact with the kids.
We need a kicking coach and a ruck coach.
These are urgent priorities.

Building on this, we need the right kicking coach and ruck coach. Unfortunately, I'm not sure that is in our coaching budget and volunteers with the right skill sets are hard to find. I know Dale wasn't a fan of having Murray Couper involved with coaching but I think we should revisit that idea. Surely goal kicking hasn't changed in the game in 40 years.

Murray Couper would be the perfect kicking coach.
I think we need to find the budget.

If memory serves me correctly Coups is the last PFC coach to take a premiership.
Colts 1999, resulting in 6 players being drafted that year.
Only controversy I can recall was telling a parent he was the coach and to bugger off.
Don't have a problem with that.
Get him in there as kicking coach.
Urgently.
Then get a ruck coach.

In total agreement with that DF. Just waiting to be asked.
Just as imperative as getting a ruck coach.
Let's do it!!

WAFL Colts Team for month of April has been announced and Perth has 1 representative - Jack Avery who came via Claremont. Well done on the selection Jack, named in the back pocket so would be getting plenty of opportunity.

WB why would Perth recruit Avery from Claremont and then only play him in the Colts?
Also I thought Colts aged players were off limits from recruitment unless they are not wanted or on the particular Colts club squad list?

I think 19 year olds can be recruited but I’ll check the rules later. I think you can transfer with agreement of both clubs too. Avery 14 Feb 2002. Restrictions on number of players born 2002 who can play Colts I think.
Doesn’t answer your question “why”.

Hopefully he'll be in the Seniors soon BH if they think he's ready. Point of the post was to highlight that Perth once again seems to be struggling to field a competitive side. Perth has been quite good in producing players good enough to be drafted but overall depth of colts squad continues to be a concern and you'd hope a concern for the WAFL/WAFC

But we have the solution now, so onwards and upwards. All it takes is to send, say, Brett Edmonds and Zac Hill to a few training sessions and the southern corridor boys will be tipping out their pre-mix cans, stubbing out their spliffs and knocking down the door of their local club.

God help our colts when Avery moves, as he inevitably will, to reserves and and then possibly league. Though we may get a couple of wins on the board when other clubs lose players to the State 18s and PSA footy ramps up. We have no players in the 18s and precious few in the PSA.
