Agree. We will lose Hutchy to EP and Mellington to Peel.
Gee gunna miss those 30 plus possession from Hutchy and his drive. We will see as dont think he is far of Eagles anyway and WP wont have him anyway.

I don't think it will affect the Tigers as much as everyone thinks. No Silvagni who only plays a handful of games anyway, no McGinnity again we hardly saw him at all last year - McGovern yes big loss, who else...hmmmm. Anton Hamp? I think we will be hurt more from retirements with the possible retirement of:

Browne
Crawford
Jones
Schammer
Medhurst
Foster

But hey we have had a bloody good run!

How on earth will it effect Swans BC??? We only have Newman on a regular basis & he might well be delisted at seasons end ..& we actually did not have 1 AFL listed player play vs WP on Anzac Day! Maybe you should have done your homework before commenting!

I think we are missing BC's point here.. It is not a matter of it not changing Swans or WP etc with limited players it is the Fact the G7 Clubs will input a lot of AFL players into Peel and EP therefore making them very very strong. Let not forget for every player who goes up from EP /Peel one will be dropping back unless he is injured.

I Have heard arguements saying dont worry about it they wont be that strong.. Shit what a understatement.

Its one of those "time will tell" scenarios. If in 2020 Peel and East Perth have won the past 6 grand finals then yes something will have to be done.

I see both positives and negatives. I think it will raise the standard of the comp and it will also make clubs get back to a home grown talent set up. It will also create an US Vs THEM vibe which will be good for the comp.

Lets face it SOMETHING has to be done as the comp is fizzling into oblivion.

What will really suck is seeing a player lets say for example Hugo Breakey from our club who has AFL potential written all over him. Gone through our colts, played ressies now just starting to play league. If he gets drafted by Freo all of a sudden he is playing against us??? doesn't seem right.

The WAFL has just become a breeding ground for the AFL who treats the comp as a retarded baby brother it can manipulate and use to its advantage and that will never change.

As some one said Remember a few years ago the AFL /WAFC were talking about making the WAFL a under 23 comp...How greedy was that. All they are interested in is the AFL and Grassroots footy can go to Hell but on one condition they still act as Feeder clubs for the ALMIGHTY AFL..

The WAFC has a vested interest, they own both the Eagles & the Dorkers.

The Clubs should be working now to ensure that they have the planning in place to make sure they can overcome any disadvantage.

I think the biggest disadvantage is offield, with both AFL clubs ploughing resources into EP & Peel.

Not sure what Dawson is on but I suspect he is the best paid coach in the WAFL & his salary is not paid by EP I bet. Then their will be all the assistants.

My only hope is that the WAFC will in it's wisdom ensure that with all the advantages that the aligned clubs will have that adjust some of the rules to help the 7 remaining clubs.

As I said I live in hope (Dorrington?).

I watched the game on Saturday and I am not sure that Claremont looked all that unbeatable.

Yes I know you have players out but you do have a reserves team that has been dominant in recent years.

I would not necessarily get complacent if I were Claremont, there are teams out there that might just give you a run for your money.

We ourselves are looking forward to the challenge to see where we are at.

We're not that stupid mate - that attitude will kill you and it cost us a flag in 2010. Marc Webb is a very smart operator and will know that arrogance is a real danger so in answer to your question - no there definitely isn't.

Great start but it's just that, will we lose games? of course we will every side has a bad week. Are we happy with where we are, hell yes who wouldn't be happy at 6 from 6.

The Tiges are far from unbeatable from what I saw v WP !

After what I've seen from East Perth so far, they've thrown away future on field success for 30 silver pieces.

There wont be tainted premierships this time around. They've completely sold their soul and sold out their supporters to be a development squad.

That may well be correct Jebus. Cam Shepherd was interviewed just before the game at Mandurah started which was the abc tv broadcast match. And he said something very similar to what you stated.
