After well over a decade of tireless work by the many people involved the final papers have been signed and approved and building starts on our new base within the fortnight. Has been a long journey, and I imagine extremely bureaucratically arduous, to get to here. The club is to be applauded for making a strong investment in the long term future of the club and the wafl in what has been an ever challenging and changing 28 years (post 1987). We will be a bit of a guinea pig in this and other clubs will be watching closely I would think ( definitely East freo anyway with shimmon there now)
I don't really know but I would doubt it would be ready by next April. You will all have to put up with the show grounds for a few more games yet, which is a pretty bloody good temporary base I reckon.

Does the new base at Tigerland come with a built-in soundproof booth for the Bearded Burbler T.O.O? If not I am more than willing to contribute one!

TOO if the contracts hadn't been signed until now why did Claremont play at the Showgrounds for the last two years?

Well I suppose the contracts were signed long ago and the development surrounding the oval got priority, red tape red tape you know. There's a story in the west tomorrow on it.

The asking price for some of those apartments are a bit steep I reckon! 2x2 going for around 630k I think

Yes in exchange for relinquishing the lease on the other 75 % of the ovals surroundings for the state govt to make an absolute fortune on southerner. If south was to ever do the same thing at freo oval, which would probably be much more lucrative to the government, you would be getting the same if not bigger carrots.
