Pretty disappointing stuff to see in the fixtures.

That's got me thinking, could we and should we have an extended pre season competition? Most clubs only have 2 scratches these days at WAFL level. Maybe a round robin of say 4 matches each and make them double headers. Ends with a GF or cash prize for whoever finishes on top. With a few less games to play in the season proper there are less games for clubs to get going. Give it a naming rights sponsor who puts up the cash prize.

Having 3 derbies - and at set times - has stuffed up the fixturing for years. This is one good thing to come out of recent changes. Why there was a need for an ANZAC Day derby over last few years I've never been able to work out. Anyway they've been poor games for ages with EF being so bad. Good riddance to the skewing of fixtures caused by this nowadays completely irrelevant rivalry.

If poor games are the logic around fixturing and relevance then I'm not too sure where that would leave Perth for the last 40 years.

Exactly what has it stuffed up?? And replaced with what exactly,,,?? this current crap?

Exactly what I thought Bazza Why should it bother others if there are three derbies in a season - after all it is completely irrelevant.

Anyways not playing the Bulldogs 3 times in a season probably helps poor East Fremantle avoid one shellacking but unfortunately though, potentially one less visit to a decent ground and facilities for South's supporters.

That wont happen this year we will bottom out, they will be a lot closer EF could be more dominant this year.

I ,for one, am spewing there isn't 3 derbies- easy points for the Sharks
