No worries mate...the Schloithe move was just an example but certainly confirms your comments about Souths brains trust not reacting fast enough to ever changing game conditions. Greg Clark is not a midfielder like Schloithe but he didn't have to be as Curley had him anchored in your D50...easy in hindsight I guess...who'd be a WAFL coach? ;-)

By the way BC, what happened to the electronic scoreboard after half game - blacked out. The scores were read out by the PA. What a disgrace at the so called "Home of Excellence".

Yep...agree Roman...it was a disgrace and I have no idea what happened to it. Both EP and Subi need to have a plan B if it happens again. It looked to me like power to the scoreboard was disrupted as it was completely blank....maybe Subi didn't pay their power bill. ;-)

Oh no, of course I forget they are a poor club financially. They will be asking the Footy Commission for a loan.

Other example of questionable planning by our brains trust is the reluctance to play a second genuine ruckman , would add flexibility and forward options to your team, at the same time force the oppo to at least re jig their defensive structure.
Reluctance to change the game plan of slow build up to get the ball into the forward line quickly we are always appearing to want to get the perfect entry, sometimes just playing with some forwards in one on ones with their defenders might be a better option. Everyone says we have a potent forward line but we never seem to play a game plan to exploit this so called advantage.
The other one is a reluctance to change our ploy of playing a plus one in defence? We have persevered for too long with this structure during the year and not reacted to the damage that the opposition plus one in our forward line has caused by not giving our so called talented forward line the opportunities to kick goals.
Lastly we do not show enough respect and plan to nullify the oppositions midfield trumps. Ie on the weekend Horsley , Phelen etc did as they pleased. We have never been great at looking at developing hard run with roles for certain oppo midfielders.
Just a few of my thoughts, IMO they have been weaknesses in our club for a few years.

Isn't the new scoreboard one of those "new you beaut modern electronic modern" pieces of equipment that's supposed to be better than the old one?
This may sound a bit simple, perhaps some-one could ask the Subiaco footy club to just use the old scoreboard. At least they were relaiable.

Not the first time the scoreboard has blanked out during a match at Leederville either. Call me old fashioned but I love the manual scoreboards like the ones at Bassendean or the WACA.

We don't have an old score board any more wag...last time the electronic one broke down they had a couple of kids on the opposite side of the ground with some sort of manual set up which was smaller than the main board. The Town of Vincent need to kick in a few bucks along with Subi and EP given they're both financial and get something decent for the benefit of supporters.

Agree with everything you've said Dwert in partcular the second string ruckman and the extra in defence. I guess Subi have the luxury of playing Delahunty in that second ruckman role now that Zac Clarke is on board. It's released Dela to play a high half forward which gven his huge tank is hard to match up on. He then gives Clarke a chop out a couple of times a quarter which as a result, has taken Dela's game to a new level this year as he's not rucking for 100 minutes like before. Is Strom someone who could fill that role as he has the size and seems fit enough? The extra down back can be useful but you probably noticed Schofield didn't use it on Saturday as it does rob Peter to pay Paul if you're not careful. I gotta say it's nice to have an intelligent conversation about footy for a change. Cheers :)

IMO Strom is not a genuine ruckman and has been tried in that role and struggled.
We had Branchi the past few years and I believe we did not persevere with him long enough, although he was injury prone. As you know ruckman take longer to develop later. We then recruited Solomon from EF and again have been reluctant to use him in that manner? We had John Frampton state 18s brother of Bill(Pt ADEL)this year but have not shown any interest in developing him to play that role. Not even sure he is the club anymore?
The player behind the football IMO is a acceptance that you are going to loose the midfield battle and then try to win the ball with the extra defender. negative crap that teaches bad habits in players.
