BC it's been delayed due to the City of Freo deciding to take over the old FFC building as their council offices while the big new city centre development is done. That means the Freo oval development is on hold until then along with any chance of ground sharing. Convenient for the Council but certainly a big negative for Fremantle football.

Yep mate, any further delay is just mindboggling, my understanding is there are lease payouts to negotiate at Fremantle Oval being only real hold up, as you say a 5 year back burner is madness - given as you say the dire state of EF Oval, the perilous position of the club both on and off the field, if anything the matter should be fast tracked.

Smashed colts done as well , jeez wtf has happened out at moss st , does
A merger beckon ?

Lack of motivation sounds worrying - hope your not going out in straight sets again .

On the question of the co habitation and merger , I would think that both clubs leaderships would be derelict in their duty to not keep the discussions on the table of

1. EF cohabitation at Fremantle Oval

2. Possible mergers of the two clubs into the future, I make this comment as we should never say never as we do not know what the landscape will be in the WAFL into the future?

On the question of going out in straight sets you would hope that the playing group and coaching staff are hellbent on not allowing this to happen this year. We could potentially play the Fremantle reserves team in Round 23 at Mandurah and the following week in a Qualifying final? That would be interesting.

Spot on Dwert...we need to keep all options open - one thing is certain in life is change.

East Fremantle will be at Moss Street for at least 5 more years. Fremantle Oval needs serious redevelopment. Forget about the state of East Fremantle Oval do not go to Fremantle Oval until it is properly redeveloped. The South Freo members should be bulldozed. Who did they get to build that thing? - by the look of it the design was inspired by those houses you see out in Spearwood that Italians favour. Probably the same builder. The Dockers monstrosity must go and is just an eyesore. The Old Stand is wonderful but sits too far back from the action and has a car park in front of it. I will say the ground has a great Scoreboard and the Morton Bays and the backdrop of the Port city, its noises provide a nice ambience. Staying at East Fremantle Oval short term is not a problem and I don't see what is wrong it. It is slightly rustic but is comfortable and all are welcome in the members. It does make sense too share our old home though so I am happy to move but I would not rush or be pushed.

I don't think there's much doubt the finals will be shaped by how much AFL stock lines up , not form line

Pretty sure if any merger came about the competition would be dead , smoked

Agree Ti Em, was down there for the SU v EF game and it was very wet early but there's plenty of cover in front of the members and the beers always cold and the chips are nice and hot so not too many issues for me but 5 years will well and truly see the joint out. I imagine EF council's mouth is watering at the development possibilities of that site.

Understatement of the century - "A little bit rustic".

TI Em - A bit of a weird observation about the SF Members stand given the state and design of EF Members and the scrap metal built stand.

Clearly you are clueless about the plans, the entire concept is to clear both the dorkers and sffc members , with a new facility for both clubs, the oval will be realigned closer to the old stand, the reason for the distance is because of the original cycle track that was there.

As BC said to delay it another 5 years is pointless it just drags on a bad financial situation and delays improvement, unfortunately the council are using the old dorkers as a base which is causing the delay. The demolition of the Stan Riley centre will begin pretty soon for a new car park.

As already stated by other EF Oval well and truly the worst around.

I think you must have something wrong with you to even contemplate merging this states greatest football club.

And whether East Fremantle is truly the worst ground around is purely subjective. Some do not like it, some do - importantly East Fremantle Football Club is happy using it . We cannot go anywhere anyway because Fremantle Oval quite simply is a dump and needs serious redevelopment. Too much of Fremantle Oval is incongruous - like the South Freo members and the Dockers Monstrosity. The toilet behind the goals (also surprise surprise not in harmony with the surroundings) at the Hospital fence is fenced off and not in use. I have not even mentioned the famous cement tiered outer.

Also if you are so clued up on the plans why are you questioning why the necessary redevelopment will not happen whilst the FCC use it?
