Haiden Schloithe will return from retirement in 2024

confirming 3 new recruits - more pieces for 2024


Luke Polson has come to us after a year playing in the GFL for Boulder. He is an impressive athlete standing 196cm tall and 20 years of age. He represented WA in U18s and his versatility could see him play anywhere from midfield to key forward. 

Connor McDonald has signed with us, from Perth Football Club. Connor is a 19-year-old leader who Captained Aquinas in the PSA, played for WA in the state U18s in 2022, and played with Perth FC Colts in their Grand Final appearance this year. Connor comes to the Bulldogs as a developing mid-sized forward.

Lewis Rayson will make the journey to WA after playing for Glenelg in the SANFL. Lewis is a 20-year-old former Captain of South Australia in the U19s. He comes to the Port City after playing half-back in the SANFL, but also has experience in the midfield. Yet another versatile recruit for our side who will bring pace and energy.

I’m kind of glad for south’s that Schloithe is back. But I didn’t miss the head throwing antics of his. Just play footy mate, you are good enough.

Apart from Schloithe,the signings are hardly filling me with confidence that we can improve next year.

It raises more questions for me about our poor position as a club with our development programs. What has been happening in our Colts and Reserves programs?
