I'd be suggesting old sussan ley's time is up too! Have been following this story with interest. Obviously the 'age of entitlements' is not over for MP's, one could say with accuracy. They obviously do not share old joe's vision of everybody doing the heavy lifting! And on top of that, she's charging taxpayers so she can attend a bloody party??!!!

The sad aspect of this saga is it happened two years ago!!! Why has the story only surfaced recently?

This scam would have been nicely swept under the carpet too, had it not come to public attention. One has to ask the question if she can afford to purchase a 795 thousand dollar property on a 'supposed' whim, why couldn't she afford her own travel costs?

Good comment WAG.The only problem is she got caught.Knowing all the time that what she done was wrong.And who's the latest targets of these ruling elites.Pensioners who have worked all there life paying taxes.

Let's see: D Trump is a self-confessed abuser of women. A buffoon who claims that he knows more about everything than experts - he claimed he knows more than the US Generals. He claims he knows more than the US Intelligence personnel. He is a recidivist LIAR - I saw him deny saying something that he had said 5 minutes earlier in the same interview.

He has been helped to win the US Presidency thanks to V Putin and Russia. His presidency is flawed before it has started and his election will be forever tainted. I suspect that not toolong after his inauguration Russia will invade the rest of Ukraine and will have eyes on other east European countries.

Finally it is quite remarkable that you are able to suggest that I don't know much about D Trump. Here is a question for you Bazza: how many of the Presidential debates did YOU watch?

Health Minister Sussan Ley has stood aside following pressure over a number of taxpayer-funded flights to the Gold Coast, where she and her partner own property. Apparently she will not be returning to that portfolio?
In a statement, Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull said Ms Ley had agreed to "stand aside without ministerial pay" whilst an investigation takes place. Apparently-the travel claims will be investigated "thoroughly".
And one of the questions that needs answering immediately is why do these official scams keep happening?!?! I thought stealing others money was against the law!

One could very easily conclude it is the very, very s l o w pace and the very l o n g time frame to the 18-month old push for reform of the system that is the bigger scandal.

There certainly is some fantastic politicians around.
But sadly, it's the dubious ones that scam the taxpayers all too often and are allowed to get away with it, constantly.

Funny how if average Joe steals, he's done by the law and has a price to pay. If you're a politician, it's called "an error of judgement" and is not punishable. WTF?

And then hide behind those "rules", which makes everything alright!

They have a pay back rule , which is not really they way to go, it needs a massive overall, all spending should be listed on a website the public can access per member.

Ideally we need more Trumps, he is not accepting a cent in salary or allowances, and is only the third in US history to do so and the first since JFK.
