Anyone hear that today, there is a plan to allocate each WAFL Club 500 seats at the new stadium as a revenue stream.

Bazz I've been banging on about this since the new stadium was announced, suggesting 300 each for the 7 unaligned WAFL clubs. That's only 2100 seats out of 60k set aside but can you imagine the wringing of hands and gnashing of teeth from the two AFL clubs? Both would see it as an attack on their massive profitability. What was the WCE profit last year $5 mill? Freo spuriously claimed only $750,000 profit. They are already up in arms about the 15k stadium members seats allocation so I'd be shocked & amazed if they did get some seats.

I have no idea what a seat at an AFL game costs, say $50? if so then that's a possible $15k each week to the WAFL clubs or a max of $330k per season, that would go a long way to give all WAFL clubs financial sustainability. But ... if that were to happen you can expect the WAFC to give with one hand and take with the other and withdraw or reduce other payments to the clubs.

If this rumour has any legs, which I doubt, maybe the offer is coming from the state Govt, lets face it if the WAFC were managing it the last thing they would do would be to give anything to the WAFL clubs.

It will be an offset so the Eagles and Dockers no longer have to hand their profits over.

Those two disgusting fat rich corporate bodies deserve to pay a HELL Of a lot more WCE have made 5 Mill this FY and the FFC a good amount as well..both are getting richer and richer beyond all scale compared to the other AFL clubs, Hawks only made 3.3 Mil and they won the Premiership? How ? on the back of a crippled WAFL Club base..

Yep Minister of Sport wants a deal done with new Stadium Managers and the AFL clubs, remember he has a seat on the WAFC and final say IF HE SO WISHES. AND the People of WA own the Stadium not the WCE or Dorks!

Bazza, The Hon. Minister for Sport is Mia Davies. SHE is the daughter of former MLA Dexter Davies who played 14 League games for East Fremantle around 1970.

So the story does have legs, outstanding. Cant wait for the vitriol to come from the AwFuL clubs .......... it's just not fair!!!!

Fear not, the WAFC will find a way to change the mix of payments to the clubs so they don't end up any better off. The last thing they want is a strong vibrant and viable WAFL comp that takes any miniscule semblance of attention away from the AFL fat cats.

The two giant corporate fat cats will fight tooth and nail to protect their profits, why because all the overpaid pampered prima donas and staff they have would lose out, living the corporate lifestyle is hard to quit.
