Spot on BC. the bloke is a EGO maniac with a caiptal E, the most arrogant, narcistic person in the AFL by far , and thats saying something.

I used to be a huge fan of Hird's, but the day he decided he was bigger than the Club and went against their wishes, was the day he lost me.

PN, This has been to two different courts in the land, and they have both decided that Essendon and their players have a case to answer to. Sorry mate no conspiracy theory here....., but there is still a world of hurt for Essendon to come.

I'm sure the supporters of the other 17 AFL clubs would hope this just hurries up and goes away, we all sick about reading about poor old Essendon.....They pushed the boundaries to far and they now need to face the consequences for their actions, regardless of the substances being performance enhancing, or just on a banned list.

If what you are saying can be assumed as fact Swedgen then who is the individual that shredded the records of these injections. Alternatively who is the individual that deleted the files with these records.
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and suggest if all the wrongdoings the players are accused of are true, then in my opinion only, the shredders are Robinson & Dank, the 2 with the absolute most to lose including possible jail time for deliberately duping the organisation that paid them to perform their duties within set and agreed rules and boundaries especially with regards to injecting banned substances in to players against instruction. if the Bombers have infracted (outside of the AOD confusion). as 17/18ths of Australia insist they have, it's possible the infection you talk about in Essendon is a contagion that won 2 flags during its tenure elsewhere before migrating to windy Hill under the thorough recommendation of the man at the helm of that super successful club. My judgement is still reserved as I want to see real evidence that confirms my club deliberately set out to break WADA's regulations and that the players were complicit in an attempt to out and out cheat before I condemn them to the Lance Armstrong file.

Forget Hirds stance for now, my question here is if ASADA are 100% correct with their allegations then do you believe the players knowingly risked their reputations and footballing and financial futures by agreeing to knowingly defy the WADA code, be complicit in taking an alleged substituted banned peptide, then to be 100% defiant in declaring their innocence of any wrongdoing only for them to stand together as team mates and refuse to broker a deal because they know deep down they are guilty as sin. They may have been foolish to trust the so called expert people around them as the AFL themselves would have advised these youngsters to do as they would have at any other AFL club but to be disgusted and to hang them out for dead is a sad reflection on the entire footy community, not just Essendon. It's not as if during what proved to be a successful premiership window they were smoking meth and training thru the night to inadvertently gain advantage, running from and constantly defying police, beating their wives, dealing narcotics in alleyways whilst loitering amongst the known criminal world only for when one of their own seriously needed help to almost all turn their back on their team mate, same thing happened to the big bloke who ended up at Moorabin as well, whilst their organisation turned the screws on the local media to play down all of these indiscretions as being that of one bad egg at the club who just happened to be skipper when they full well knew they had a much bigger problem. Amazing how you get 3 strikes for narcotic use before being hung out to dry in the AFL system whilst still treated as a ned Kelly type hero for winning a flag during a period of sustained amphetamine use yet you can be simply accused of possibly taking a banned peptide that arguably has little or no effect to possibly negative effect going on the track record of numerous soft tissue injuries that occurred only for half of a nation to insist you are the scum of the earth because you believed in the integrity of the people who were employed and trusted by the AFL club who drafted you to help you develop as a player and man both on and off the field. Whilst I will withhold my opinions here as to how my club has chosen to deal with this matter I will not condemn the players who are the real victims in this whole sordid mess that you are right could have been sorted out 18months ago if not for the actions of the individual who destroyed the alleged documentation that I would bet my house on still exists. I will reserve my disgust for this fella.....that is of course if the players are found guilty of being duped

Admireable post DW. One question, as we as a country and a community absolutely in sport abhore the use of performance enhancing drugs, then SURELY if you are pushing the envelope with injections to players, you would make sure you had 7648 copies both on paper and computer given the drugs in sport importance that is highlighted ad naesuem in every sporting code in our country and the rest of the world. To say Essendon didnt/hasnt got copies is ( logicaly speaking) BULLTISH.

Why given the importance did they NOT co operate with the investigation?

The players, if they are the innocent parties, why did not 8 or so refuse the program, were they more intelligent than the ones who went along with it? Now the 8 or so who didnt are paying the price too as they are tarnished as to who they are. Thats hardly fair now is it?

Its quite clear in the players contracts they all sign, negligence isn't an option. Its upto you to know what the club is asking you to do.

You cant go and blame this on Dank and robinson, they were bought in to do a job. The players obviously agreed with it otherwise there would have been more than 1 player (Stanton I believe) that refused the injections.

Now they need to take their medicine literally and allow us all to get on with watching the game.

The worst bit for Essendon as I see it, drive past junior ovals now in Perth and see how many bombers jumpers are on the track, not a lot, there is a whole generation of kids that don't like Essendon now.

I believe today the club will be told if they don't participate in the NAB cup like they are threatening they will be hit with loss of premiership points (similar to Melbourne storm) and will also have future draft restrictions imposed on the place. Could not have happened to a nicer club
