15 - 20 Billion dollar stimulus package announced as we inevitably head into recession.

$500 cash hand out outs to pensioners and Newstart recipients. Cash grants to small business and tax cuts.

The problem with this recession is we are not coming off a boom and high interest rates so there is fark all riggle room however I'm predicting a quick recovery once they get this virus under control. The $64,000 question is when will that be?

...And the South Australia premier has announced a 350 million stimulus package in that state. The package would include current infrastructure projects being brought forward, as well as new projects around road maintenance, housing, tourism and health. The package is also aiming at easing the economic impact of the bushfire crisis and ongoing drought.

The modelling suggests recovery in minimum 6 to a maximum of 12 months DD....but that's just theory.

That may be a tad optimistic BC, hopefully not, but most in the know expect the virus to peak in 6-9 months and inoculations wont be available for at least another 9 months. Western countries will recover much earlier than 3rd world countries who mostly have little or no health system and infrastructure to deal with it. Our nearest neighbour, Indonesia will be a massive epicentre for the virus so I'm hoping we close our borders to Indo as soon as possible.

ASX another 3.6% hit today down to 5700 points...

Stimulus will probably give it a bounce, but I reckon it will struggle from here,,,this could be a long drag...

I moved my super to cash last week, that so far has saved me 50K ,

Does anyone have any travel plans, mine are in a bit of flux at the moment,???

Sound's like the Rudd/Swan stimulus was successful then - wasn't the idea to get spending into the economy?

Perhaps Scotty from Marketing should try some of it.

I don't seem t be as threatened by all of this as some, not down to personal wealth etc just having a what goes around comes around attitude helps.

The query I have is will all of those that pilloried Rudd for his GFC process (not the batts but the money to folk and infrastructure) have the same attitude with the current government or will we see an acceptance that these types of strategies are necessary in times of critical economical crisis.

The cost will come from increasing debt cos the surplus was never going to be enough to even pay for the bushfire relief.
We live in a time where intelligent people are being silenced so stupid people won't be offended
