Looks a player of the future for sure- a 5/45 and a couple of other handy bowling performances plus a couple of handy hard hitting 40 odd scores in just his 2 Tests thus far.

for a while I thought they'd got themselves back into the game but maybe they over-thought that as well because then the last few NZ wickets got damaging runs & the collapse began again & even the nightwatchman idea fell over

Kiwis are absolutely cruising to another Test win here chasing a very mediocre target of 132 after the Currys had another batting collapse they are now 0/82 needing only another 50 runs with a shed full of batsmen to come.
That would make it a 2-0 whitewash of the Currys in the 2 Test Series.

Well done to the Black Caps, probably their best homes series win since that one v WI in the very early 80s...the bowlers deserve the plaudits here, all their quicks had a say and TBH the Indians have been pretty piss poor batting and bowling wise, obviously generated by good Kiwi pressure.

So the Indian tour begins with an India 5-0 T20 white wash and ends with a Kiwi 3-0 ODI and 2-0 test whitewash...5-5 at the end....good for NZ and world cricket....no doubt the Indians will spend the next 2 years solely in the sub continent, trying to resurrect this pants down thrashing down under and inflate a few deflated egos.

That 1979/80 NZ vs WI series was a very controversial one at the time Freeze & AR.
The Windies were adamant the umpires were not playing fair with many calls not going their way and resulted in a frustrated Michael Holding kicking over the stumps at the batsman's end after yet another appeal was turned down and Colin Croft I think clipping the NZ umpire over the earhole during his delivery stride on another occasion.
Even Richard Hadlee admitted in an interview on ESPN that the umpiring in that series was indifferent.
The WI who as we all know were an incredible side during that period and had just beaten Australia here in a 3 Test series and also in a triangular 1 day comp with AUS & ENG.

BH -- all true, i remember it as a kid. From my point of view, the tourists should have been punished including Llyodd for losing control of his players. Later on in the decade, his side also had poor decisions go against them in our country, but they always kept their cool. Is it true, that G F Lawson tread on his wicket twice and was given 'not-out twice'?

I think the wi played without IVA Richards so they almost certainly would have won the series had he been with the team.
