Australia were once again let down by weak batting by Stonis and Maxwell after Smith and Carey had brought them back into the game

I thought Finch, Warner & Handsdown were pathetic.

Warner and to a lesser extent Finch carried our batting through the whole WC tournament.
Warner, Finch, Smith, Khawaja, Carey, Starc, Cummins were the backbone of the side but received little support from the others outside the odd small cameo.
Probably time to look at Carey for Test selection as the keeper the only problem is the current incumbent also happens to be the Captain....but Carey is a far more accomplished batsman.

Very true BH.....Carey should be playing test....far better bat than Paine and as good a keeper....but Paine as you say is the skipper......Finch is always vulnerable early on for lbw....just how it goes....Warner has had a great series and good to see him back....Smith surely bats 3 now in all formats....Handscomb with that technique if his is a walking wicket.....surprised Wade purely on recent numbers didn't get the nod....too late now.....Cummins tailed off in the latter half, too talented to be out of the wickets for too long....just the nature of ODI.....lose early wickets and the momentum is hard to grasp back.....Would of rather had Marsh over Stoinis TBH, that's how bad Stoinis was.....as for Maxwell......gone for me.....he,ain't the future and will be mid 30s come 2023.....

the lose of Usman K did not help matters. Freezin; have NZ lot noticed that this is their second wc appearance in a row? I hope the BBC chokes on the humble pie, the world was ending after the lose to Ceylon according to its scribes. I will have to collect the money that a British friend bet against his own team too. Well done to Bayllis, whom was appointed to improve England's one day cricet primarily

If they are going to try Roy as test player they must make sure that he bats at five or six and not as an opener

New Zealand need to bat first tomorrow and put on a better score than they did against India. If they could get something like 280, they would be in with a chance with their bowling which is their stronger suit. They must break the Bairstow/Roy partnership early or the game will slip away very quickly like it did for Australia.

Great effort by NZ to make the final....I have no doubt they will give it their all.....but in all honesty an Eng / India final would of been a more exciting spectacle.....gonna be de je vu for NZ....playing the home side in a WC final in front of a home crowd......Lord's might not be as rowdy as a packed MCG.....but the way Eng have played their ODI cricket over the past few years they deserve to win.....

I think the engravers can safely add "England 2019" to the World Cup.
However, the Kiwis might draw inspiration from the 1983 World Cup at Lord's: India 183 beat hot favourites West Indies 140.

Incredible finish to a great WC.
Finished tied after 50 overs each both sides making 241 (so much for the 400 the Poms claimed they could consistently score before the WC), then on to the super overs where it also finished in a tie but the Soap Dodgers get the win for finishing higher after the round robin series.
Bad luck to the Kiwis who were pretty unlucky to be honest with an lucky 4 overthrows in the last over coming off Stokes bat from the throw from the deep after already running 2 costing them in the end.
