Melbourne has had the Boxing day test since 1980.In 1989 they played a 50 over match on Boxing Day.Premier Andrews claims it's not his fault that Optus Stadium has no events to play at there new Stadium.

Typical Victorian FLOG. He's got his head well and truly up his own arse. The flog wouldn't have a clue what events have been held at Optus Stadium and he's probably got as much cricket ability as Bob Hawke with a bat and John Howard with a ball.
Get on your bike.
It was Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve.

Hmmm so flog or not, how many iconic sports events are held here in WA. I'll be happy for 2 or 3. We are the back blocks ( not that i care, i love it here), but generally as regards sporting events, no one cares......

Hopefully the Australian batsmen are good enough to bat for a long time on this pitch and get their score somewhere up near the Indian total. This should ensure that the game ends in a draw which then sets up the decider in Sydney. In an ideal scenario hopefully the bowlers can put their feet up for a few days because there is only a 4 day turnaround to the final test.

I think the Aussie bowled well, just wide of he off stump, saying if ya wanna have a go, fair enough. Indians erred on the side of caution. Thought all the bowlers worked theri backside off, and well done Micth Marsh....held up an end well.

We have got Federer for the Hopman Cup and Manchester United and Rugby League SOO.But all at substantial cost to us tax payers.Melbourne is almost the sporting capital of the world.Hard to outbid them.

True, hopman cup, no one really cares ( and i think its either leaving here or being made defunct.)

Manu a once one event.

SOO probably again a once off event.

As i said i love it here, but doubt us ever becoming a sporting destination ( world wide that is )

That McCullum knock would have been a cracking innings to watch live Mike & Freeze talk about going out with a bang!
Also interesting to hear former Channel 9 commentator pommy Mark "Smashing Baby" Nicholas is calling the SA vs PAK Test for Supersport after not getting a gig with either 7 or FOX when 9 lost the Cricket rites!

BH: I would agree with you about Nichollas espcially when you consider some of the commentators Fox has employed.
