I think with the new admission on TV recently a few fans will be disappointed.
I have no doubt some players will be banned, ignorance will never be accepted as an excuse. Standard ban is two years initially then you may plead your case, best bet being six months. However WADA or ASADA will never accept that ban being used mostly in the off season. So perhaps twelve month bans will be handed out.
I aint happy with this but a Brownlow Medal should be stripped also. Banned drugs are banned drugs. If I can 'bing' this banned drug and find it on the list...well..

Incredible slip up from Watson. But since this first broke something has always told me inside that no player will get suspended. Players in any situation are rarely held accountable for anything. The doctors, sports science blokes and just maybe a coach might go but I bet the players get off

They are gone AOD9064 is a banned substance since 2011 no ifs or buts about it Watson has admitted to taking it OTC, he shouldn't be playing on Thursday he's a drug cheat whether or not he knew what he was taking, ignorance is not an excuse.

A/M he may of sounded confident, he said what he said off his own back with out ESS blessing on FOX sports news, when asked to comment further he said wouldn't be commenting again until the investigation was over, seems strange ASADA have left Bomber last to be intervied, Jobe looked like was ****ing himself tbh.

Mate I totally agree with everything you have said but I will stand by my comments. I gaurentee no player will get suspended. Just my opinion but I'm sure of it

Totally agree Peter, can't see any way he can avoid a holiday after his statement, which makes me sad because I think Jobe is an impressive young man but he seems to have goofed big time. Coming out and admitting he had been injected may have been an attempt to reduce the penalty from 2 years to 6 months

He and any other person that is found to have taken this drug must be banned. If they are not banned, it is setting a pretty poor precedent. I think that Jobe himself believed that he did not take a banned substance, but in fact what information he was provided was incorrect, as you guys have said "ignorance is not an excuse" and i also believe that. Is tough on him when he has been told by specialists/doctors that the drug is not banned and is fine for him to take, where does this draw a line in relation to obtaining an expert opinion.

I am with Sacko here and think that no player will get suspended, even though it is black and white that they should.

Sounds like the drug authorities dont consider the AFL timetable, and probably shouldn't, Essendon could win the flag this year and the authorities will ban the players, when they are ready to, then recommend the stripping of the flag.

All the evidence? Surely Jobe admitting that he took a banned substance is enough evidence to at least supspend him immediately and strip his Brownlow.

Hardly seems fair him saying that he was using prohibited drugs and is still allowed to play?

If it was soccer or cycling or running or whatever international sport, an admission like Watson's would get them suspended immediately from all competitive sport!
