Trade Oscar Allen gtrxuone? Dunno bout that!! He could be a 4 or 500 goal player and Kennedy is nearly done and Darling only has a few seasons left.
If ladder positions remain the same WC currently have three picks in the top 35. Out of contract pair Liam Duggan and Jared Brander are the two I would be putting on the market and they could then have something like five top thirty picks possibly.

They should look at trying to trade out McGovern.
He hasnt fired a shot since securing that ridiculous $6million contract and a dopey Vic club would probably pay way overs for him just on his form circa 2014-18.
Darling might be worth something on the trade market as well despite his current poor form.
The likes of Gaff, Redden, Shuey, Sheppard, Cripps etc are all done and not worth a pinch of salt whilst others in Nelson, Duggan, Cole, Langdon etc wouldnt get a game at any other afl club including GCS.
Hurn & Kennedy at 34 are still playing ok but will probably retire at years end.

How on earth a young promising defender in Harry Edwards was dropped is mind boggling and you wonder if he wouldnt be looking to move on for greater opportunities elsewhere.

I think it's becoming clearer by the week that WC are facing a few tough years ahead with such an ageing list, maybe the best thing for them is to crash out of finals and look at some extensive recruiting asap so the rebuild period is as short as possible. Kennedy is an absolute warrior and still well worth his spot and will likely get a well deserved 1 year contact extension. Darling can dominate a game but there is too much of a gap between his best and worst, needs to be consistently bagging 2 or 3 a game, same applies for Ryan. Shuey is still getting his game fitness back, should have had an extra week in the ressies, expect he will be close to his best next week. Kelly another who's inconsistency is unacceptable, the consistency he had at Geelong was his main attraction. Any suggestion to trade Allen is lunacy, he's one of the premier forward rucks in the comp and still a very young man. The biggest issue with WC is their 1 dimensional game plan which fails dismally in any sort of damp/wet conditions and shock horror Footy is a winter game!!

The problem is SS they have bugger all early draft picks in the bank after selling the farm to get Kelly. They'll need to trade a few to pick up some decent daft picks like Freo did with Lachie Weller. I agree with Tiger that the likes of Duggan, Brander or similar could or should be put on the table to see what they can get otherwise there's going to be some pretty bleak years ahead as you say.
