After lifting my bottom lip up off the ground and watching the game on tv I've changed my view on the game. I thought it was an outstanding grand final contest. Exactly what you expect from the two best teams in the league. Perth created the most chances and looked most likely to score so I'm proud of their performance and I'm not going to hang shit on them for losing the game on penalties.

Credit to Sydney they are a class act and their skipper Alex Brosque was also a class act and very gracious towards Perth Glory and the Perth crowd for creating a great spectacle fitting of a grand final. Well done to both clubs. The challenge now for Perth is to go on and become a great club like Sydney.

Great venue and crowd, but tbh the quality of the game was ordinary.

Are you basing that on seeing it live at the game Bazza or have you watched it on Foxtel? I think live you are there in the moment, you don't see as much as on the tv which sounds strange. Looking at the game on Foxtel it was a better game that I felt at the game and i think that comes down to being frustrated we didn't score and didn't win. You expect the two top teams to be very good defensively and I think the nil nil scoreline at the end of regulation and extra time goes to show how evenly matched the two sides were.

Players from both sides slipped over a lot on the surface at Optus Stadium and it could have affected the result. I think the first Sydney player to take his penalty slipped in the act of kicking but fortunately for him he still struck it well and scored.

Now that the season is finished I wonder if Fornaroli will come in against Man U? Limited minutes off the bench maybe in place of Santalab.....

I've read that Alex Brosque has said he believes the side who wins the Premiers plate should be crowned Champions and no need for semi finals and a final. And he is qualified to speak because Sydney last year finished on top but in his words "played one bad game" in the semi final against Victory who went on to become Champions.

He said we already have the FFA Cup (FA Cup equivalent) so there is no need to have a finals series. But look at the FA Cup just recently, A giant club like Manchester City v Watford. I think the scoreline was 5 - 1 or 6 - 1. Are Watford even an EPL team? it's a lucky dip knockout competition.

If you had Glory v a Melbourne or Sydney suburban club in a FFA final you would be lucky to fill HBF Park so it would rob the A League of the sort of spectacle and drama we saw in front of almost 60,000 people.
